>Warner got second in GP Runabout

GP Runabout was most exciting and fascinating class on Friday race day. Plenty of riders showed up from Japan with very good equipment. Craig Warner showed up with a new boat that featured a Kawasaki modified and lightweight hull as well as a new Turbo set up. Warner was second behind Nadir Bin Handi during all moto1, though Hendi missed a buoy and he was docked a lap. Therefore the very day he has make a new start and maintain his position if e wants to win the World Title in the class.

>Flores won GP Ski Moto1

Rob Flores showed up this year on a new GP Ski race craft, which was a aftermarket SX-R hull with a stock SX-R modified pole and a triple cylinder SX-R engine. Flores made a good start and he rode consistently during most of the time. Althouth Rick Sherker made a good start (took the holeshot) he did not manage to maintain his position. Flores was very stable and he took no risks which prove the fact that he knows a lot more than anyone else of how to handle the power of the three cylinder Kawasaki engine. Second moto will be held on Saturday.

>Jeremy Poret clinch the Ski Division F1 UIM World title

Having dispelled any fears that his injured knee wouldn’t hold out, after qualifying in Pole Position yesterday, Jeremy Poret produced a Champions drive to take his fourth win of the year and regain the World title that he lost to his older brother Mickael in 2010. Poret led from start-to-finish with his only, but distant title threat, Christopher Courtois, pushing him for all of the 10 laps but was never able to close the gap to less than four seconds. “It is great to have won the title and with a win,” said Poret. “But it wasn’t easy. I had to work hard, but try not to do anymore damage to the knee. I have the title back and will now go out and try and end the season by winning the Grand Prix.” Behind the leading pair, outgoing Champion Mickael Poret fended off the close attentions of Nachette Armillas, with the youngest of the Poret brothers, Morgan, taking fifth spot ahead of Ludo Caumont.

>Japanese Marshals on IJSBA World Finals

Recently we found out through Facebook that Japanese Marshals will attend the World Finals this year. This is good news for the sport since Japanese Jet Sport Associations have more strict rules in racing and the Marshals do obey those rules and regulations. Lots of riders had experienced many issues at the World Finals the past 5 years so it will be nice if things will get more strict and even for all athletes.

Legendary watercraft racer Victor “The Slasher” Sheldon will not compete at the Vintage Ski class which was introduced this year by IJSBA. Apparently Victor stated that he will not make it to the event this time since he has further obligations to his new job, Spy Optics. It would have been nice to see him riding his old JS550.
