This picture is of Doug Silverstein the very first time he rode on a ski. Robert Phares took Doug to Colorado River on Thanksgiving 1972, 40 years ago is on next Thursday. The ski is a JS400 Preproduction unit, one of those prototypes that Kawasaki used to carry all kind of testing with various test riders. Note that this ski also has the thick handle pole and no vent hood.
