There is no doubt that 2018 has been one of the most interesting years in the history of personal watercraft since so many facts took place. The early retirement of R&D, the biggest pwc company who made exceptional performance parts for Honda, Kawasaki, Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Polaris. With R&D leaving the worldwide market of personal watercraft many thoughts and queries are in the make and its absence will soon be a major issue for the market and distributors of its products. Quenten Boschee finally won his first world title in Pro Ski Modified and Raphael Maurin respectively won Pro Ski GP in Thailand, therefore, two young guns made it to the list of the best stand up riders in the world. However, Pro Runabout Modified faced a big disappointment in the World Finals in Havasu since only 7 boats were lined up in the start line. A fact that ensures that “Big Money” boats are running out of cash and support. On the other hand a few new companies appeared in the horizon with the promise to offer an electric powered boat or ski. Will this be the future in the personal watercraft scene?
