>Yamaha wins Natural Aspirated class in Mark Hahn 300

It was a last minute deal for Yamaha USA to provide the new Yamaha WaveRunner FX HO to Yamaha sponsored racer Amy Green (R&D Powersports) for this particular race. Actually the particular pre-production unit was bought by female racer Amy Green who supported riders Kubatzki and Kelling who came all way from abroad to race in Havasu without having a race craft. Kubatzki and Kelling completed 26 laps with a total time of 4:24:31.415 that put them on the 15 place overall and listed them in first place of Four-Stroke Natural Aspirated Open class. It was a great debut for Yamaha’s brand new boat, which participated successfully in the first International event of the year. The craft was equipped with an R&D filter kit (similar to the R&D VXR kit) and a reprogrammed R&D ECU which was prepared by Bill Chapin (R&D’s guru) a day before the race. Aqsa Aswar, younger brother of Aero Aswar (last year’s winner of Runabout NA class and Iron Man) was also competing on a Yamaha WaveRunner VXR which was specifically prepared by R&D with a Stage 1 kit and a new reprogrammed ECU (read the test of this craft under Race Tests section). Aqsa finished three places behind Kubatzki/Kelling, i.e. in the 18th place in the Overall Standings which placed him in 2nd place in Four-Stroke Natural Aspirated Open class.
