Global jet-ski star Russell Marmon (Christchurch, Dorset), winner of the 4-stroke stock class of the recent Mark Hahn Memorial Havasu 300 Iron Man event in America, has confirmed he will return to the P1 AquaX Championship this year to defend the Elite 300 title won so emphatically in 2011. As the dominant force in AquaX during its inaugural season last year, the Kawasaki Ultra 300 rider made the top-tier of the championship his own but for the 2012 season an even greater level of competition is anticipated with series organisers expecting a surge of entries in the coming weeks. Marmon, one of the worlds most highly respected jet-ski racers, is delighted to return to AquaX and is relishing the promise of bigger grids, the same fantastic championship organisation and the chance to try and retain his Elite 300 crown. I had such a good time last year in AquaX, the championship is so well organised and its linked in with P1 SuperStock powerboats so the events are all very well run and really enjoyable, said Marmon, I had a blast last year, its low stress, low cost and great racing so Im delighted to return to defend the title. Were going to have more competition, more riders and the championship as a whole is going to be even bigger and better so itll be great to be back and see what we can do. The Kawasaki Ill be riding is identical in every way to the one from last year, its just the 2012 version, so Im looking forward to trying to retain the title on it.
