Cowes, 25th August Kawasaki Ultra 300 rider Russell Marmon (Christchurch, Dorset) conquered incredibly challenging, rough conditions off Egypt Point on the Isle of Wight today, Saturday, 25th August, to take a pair of superb P1 AquaX Championship victories. Substantially increasing his lead at the top of the standings with just one event remaining at Weymouth in Dorset next month, the reigning P1 AquaX Champion came into his own in the wind, rain and choppy seas to really take a firm stranglehold on the outright championship. Race two was the more difficult of todays encounters, worsening rain and stronger gusts than earlier in the day making things even more gruelling. Unlike race one though, Marmon led throughout and controlled the action during the closing laps to win comfortably from the impressive Tim Batte (Hinckley) with Sea-Doo Challenge pace-setter Paul Rivett (Banstead) a sensational third.
