Tyron Motzouris explains the concept of the new Kommander hull: “We wanted a all round ski with this project, something that you can freeride on Saturday and race around buoys on Sunday. We also wanted it to be affordable, so it takes all the 2008+ SuperJet parts, driveshaft, intake, pump ect. We also hate the narrow Superjet tray, so our tray is much wider, we moved the pole bracket forward and we widened the engine bay. The 2008+ Superjet already has a set back intake, which we used.” According to Dustin Motzouris a recreational ported 760 Yamaha engine is planned to be installed in this new hull and tested in Arizona soon. The R&D Yamaha 1.8L Recreational Engine Cooling Kits were developed for recreational and offshore racing use. Extensive engine cooling temperature testing and digital data logging has proven the R&D Cooling Kits to offer increased water volume flow through the engine, oil cooler, and intercooler as well as increased water pressure. The O.E.M. Yamaha cooling system has a very low water pressure (10 P.S.I. at 7600 rpm’s) and a low water volume flow. The new R&D single line addition kit will lower engine block and intake air temperature by 15-20 degrees. Kit comes complete with pictorial instructions. The kit works on all 2008+ year model Wave Runners with the 1.8L supercharged or naturally aspirated engine. It is now available from R&D with Pt. # 660-18006 at the cost of $99.95.

After a week of racing in very rough conditions at the Inkas Jet Raid in Peru Greek rider Akis Malouchos managed to finish 6th in F1 Class. Although there were many issues involved until he finally got a race craft to participate due to the misunderstanding with local Carlos Torres. Malouchos would like to thank Anibal Aliaga and Yamaha Peru for providing FOR FREE a Yamaha FX SVHO for his participation in this race. Also a huge THANKS to Olivier Vidal, Laurent Lagarde from Team Pastorello (also for providing another GPS unit), the whole Team Pastorello (Zeal, Niko and Dimitri), mechanics of Alain Martin and Manu Cherichi and Diaz brothers for helping him setting up the GPS almost every day. Sylvie from Jet Pulsion magazine and Laurent Bates for transportation assistance and all Pit Crew for loading and unloading the craft to the shore. Also, I would like to tank Glenn Dickinson from R&D for shipping on time some crucial aftermarket parts.
