This year IJSBA Hall of Fame got a new member, Bob “Phamous” Phare. He was one of the Kawasaki employees that took part in Kawasaki’s Jet Ski promotion program back in the seventies. He was also features in the first Kawasaki poster for the Jet Ski. Bob and the Kawasaki crew were driving around selected areas in the USA in order to promote the new sport of Jet Skiing. Factory Team Kawasaki has been testing a new turbo set up the last couple of months. Team Kawasaki is using a new Brog Warner Turbo kit which was initially tested and modified by Bill Chapin of R&D. Minoru Kanamori and Bill Chapin have join forces in order to enhance the performance of the Factory boats.

The competition in Pro Sport class was intense however no one could follow the pace of Tommy “Bomber” Bonacci. In the first moto he took the lead in second lap and never looked back. He rode all the way even through lapers to take the checkered flag. On second moto he made things easier by taking the holeshot and the lead and immediately he worked his way through the course in order to create a safe margin from the second rider. Two wins were an amazing result so Bonacci put another world title in his belt.
