>Mark Gomez reveals his opinion on Rickter EDGE

Talented rider Mark Gomez was accepted our questioning regarding the brand new Rickter EDGE and he send us a quick report from his latest appearance in the Cronulla Beach event in Australia. “The Rickter Edge stands out for its massive improvements primarily in its handling characteristics. With the deeper positioned chines the ski rails turns yet has the perfect balance of performance to be able to unweight the back end and slide into slashes. The repositioned bond rail and redesigned rear removable sponsons really help the EDGE feel engaged in the water. With the minus 2 inches in length the ski also gives the feel of the XFS/XFR that some people had come to like but gives the handling performance back to that of a SuperJet at the same time. All in all it is a great balance of great boat handling and nimble feeling of a slightly shorter hull for flip tricks and surf riding in the steeper more critical spots of the wave. The Rickter Edge really stands out as a great overall hull that can be easily ridden as a recreational ski for stand up riders of all abilities with little learning curve. I personally believe that Rick Roy has created the best overall and most versatile handling hull available on the market today. The advantages in handling and overall quality, the Rickter Edge is an absolute for sure choice to make if your ability on a Yamaha SuperJet exceeds its ability. Take the next step in your riding and get the EDGE on your competition.” Photo courtesy: Denise Knudson from Blowsion SurfSlam.

>Klippenstein wins Danna Point to Oceanside

Mike Klippenstein ride successfully his R&D Turbo powered Yamaha FX SVHO at the Offshore race of Danna Point to Oceanside and he saw first the chequered flag. Klipper was gone away out front from the start to the point at the turn point 25 miles out, he did not reset his GPS device and he did not have the exact point of the finish since he never ran in that area before. Therefore he sat and waited for second place finisher to arrive to have a reference to the finish as he did not know where the finish was and then he gas it ahead to win. A great success not only for Canadian Superstar Mike Klippenstein but also for R&D since the Turbo kits of the American company seems to rocking hard. Mike put it in his own words “Awesome PWC Offshore race-day at Dana point/Oceanside with some outstanding racers, friends, race promoter, and staff. Special thanks to Bill Chapin and Glenn Dickinson at R&D Racing, Yamaha Motor Corp., Queen Racing, Oakley USA, Skat-Trak, Hurricane Industries, Blackfoot Motorsports, Jettrim, Quakysense, Gasket Tech., Without great sponsors none of this would be possible. The support is very much appreciated! Next goal...World Finals”. Congratulations to Mike for winning the Overall Standings.
