>How Motzouris’s helmet was painted

Shane Rutherford of Whethered Designs provided us with the details of Dustin’s helmet paintjob: “Dustins helmet was a 3 day job excluding design, and layout. I like to usually do them over two weeks so the jobs aren't rushed, but I left it a bit late with Dustin going to World Finals etc.. For Dustins helmet I used a base of 3 colours, Black, Yellow, and Metallic Charcoal Grey. Hand Painted Name on the back, with some striping in Red. Followed by a pearl clear coat. (Logos are all printed for accuracy and the time factor of the job, sprayed logos take longer) I usually do three coats of clear, But Dustin's helmet only got two because of time. Cost on such a job in South Africa is between R3000.00 and R5000.00 depending on the finish and detail of the work.”
