>Sammy Pajalin’s broken engine

This is a photo of Sammy Pajalin’s engine which broke down after 50km of racing. Sammy had order a 2013 new boat and what he got was a 2011 with a changed engine… Initially he inspected the engine and he had found out that the cam chain tensioner was put the wrong way. Why he did not carry his own boat to Vladivostok? “We tried but almost all the freight companies declined to take the boat because size of package and the destination. We got one offer of 18000 usd for only shipping the boat to Vladivostok. Vladivostok is wrong place for World Championship race because of major logistics problems.” The point is will he race again under the same circumstances? Photo courtesy:88motorsport.fi

>Sammy Pajalin reports from Vladivostok

Sammy Pajalin owner of 88Motorsport.fi in Finland is still under many surprises in Russia while participating in the Offshore race held in Vladivostok. He reports on his own words “Engine broke down just after 50 km of racing and my world championship race in Russia is over. I was running 4th when this happened. We had agreed for new boat for the race but I got used 2011 boat with changed engine. So to be honest I was not expecting to it to last whole race. We checked the engine last night after the race and found out that the cam chain tensioner was put on wrong way and it did not work at all. Who ever build this engine does not understand anything about the engines. Only in Russia...” Sammy Pajalin pictured in Greece on Akropolis Jet Raid 2013.
