The R&D Engine Thermostat and Intercooler Cooling Kit is one stop shopping to solve several big issues with the OEM cooling system. Engine temperatures on a RXP 260 engine with performance upgrades can reach 190-195 degrees with the stock cooling system. The R&D Kit changes out the stock thermostat for a new cooler 160 degree thermostat. The R&D Kit also separates and re-routes the “intercooler out” and “engine out” water lines to allow less restriction and more water to flow through both the engines exhaust system and the intercooler which promotes cooler exhaust temperatures as well as reducing intake air temperatures. The R&D Kit also includes two new 1/2 inch water bypass fittings for the intercooler in and out lines, one to be used with the kit included high pressure relief valve, and one for the new intercooler water out line. The R&D “high pressure” relief valve will protect the intercooler from being broken due to high water pressure spikes. Cooler engine temperatures, cooler intake air temperatures, and cooler exhaust temperatures all add up to a noticeable RPM and top speed gain. By using this kit you will notice how the performance will be altered. The engine will accelerate stronger and it will pull harder. The R&D Boost Box for 2011-2013 Sea-Doo 260 offers a plug and play way to quickly and easily disconnect the engine management systems internal GPS speed limiter to allow an incredible five mile per hour top speed gain! The Sea-Doo 260 ECU has an internal acceleration governor and top speed governor that’s GPS controlled to only allow 67-68 mph. The GPS speed governor controls the throttle plate to modulate and restrict airflow into the intake plenum. The throttle plate modulation controls and limits the boost pressure to 7 pounds. According to Steven Dauliach’s official press release, the French 4 times IJSBA Pro Ski World Champion and 4 times UAE Champion, with many more titles won in France and Europe, plans to retire at the end of the UAE 2013 Championship. There is no doubt that Dauliach is one of the greatest athletes of Pro Ski class of all time. We wish him best of luck on whatever he will be involved and we hope that he will keep in touch with the sport somehow...
