>Impressive prize fund announced ahead of title clash in seven days time

London, 8th September – Sea-Doo manufacturer BRP has increased the stakes for riders aiming to win the inaugural Sea-Doo Challenge, which reaches its climax in Weymouth next weekend, by announcing the prize purse. Riders finishing in the series’ top three places will help themselves to a share of a £2,500 cash fund plus a host of other prizes such as riding gear, wetsuits, clothing and goodie bags. “These are great awards for the Sea-Doo Challenge riders and will make the racing even more exciting in Weymouth”, said Sea-Doo Challenge Championship Manager, Lisa Barsby. “There is much to play for and win, with several riders still in the hunt to grab something.” The first ever Sea-Doo Challenge Champion will walk away with £1,250 in his pocket, whilst the Vice Champion will be £750 better off and the third place rider £500 to the good. All three will also be given access to the other Sea-Doo ride gear and clothing prizes. Steve Robinson (Hedon, Hull) has a seven point lead on overall scores from multiple saloon car racing champion Paul Rivett (Banstead) who is trying his hand at jet-ski racing for the first time this year. However, with the eventual Sea-Doo Challenge finishing positions determined from each rider’s four best scores, it is Rivett who holds a two-point advantage going into Weymouth where he is bidding to become the first British sportsman to win titles in the same year on track and on sea. It is a similar story in the fight for the third championship place as although Rob Sired (Littlehampton) sits there now on overall scores, once the best of four rule comes into play his rival Lukasz Kawiakowski (St Albans) has the upper hand. The Sea-Doo Challenge is just one part of a festival of motorsport on the sea taking place in Weymouth over next weekend. The Challenge runs within the P1 AquaX Series featuring Britain’s top sea-going jet ski riders and water craft. Joining the stars of P1 AquaX in Weymouth will be their racing counterparts from the UK’s top national powerboat championship, P1 SuperStock UK, for what promises to be a sensational, free-to-view event for all sports fans on the south coast. Dorset jet ski riders can also get a slice of the action thanks to the stunning Sea-Doo demo fleet which is coming to Weymouth and running throughout the Championship weekend. All you have to do is find the Sea-Doo display located on the seafront to book a demo ski direct from the beach. Provisional P1 AquaX timetable:Saturday, 15th September: 12.00hrs Qualifying race; 14.30hrs race 1, Sunday, 16th September: 13.30hrs race 2 followed by podium presentation at the Powerboat P1 race centre located on Weymouth Pier.

>Rickter sponsons on FS-2 EVO1

Rickter FS-2 EVO1 is equipped with a set of rear sponsons. It is the first time that someone puts such sponsons on a Freestyle/Freeride craft. Rick Roy explains in his own words the scope behind this innovation. “When they are on it rides just like a regular FS-2 it make the rail straight. But when you take them out it makes the rail go up, that makes the nose go up easier for free style tricks ,back flip ,sharp turn. I would say it makes the ski handle something between a FS2 and a XF-S without them. Big surf with sponson small surf no sponson. It gives you the option to customize the ski depending on the conditions and your riding style.”
