>R&D Ultra Turbo kit: Parts list and price

This is the Ultra engine with the R&D Turbo kit that most people talked about during the World Finals without having seen it how it performed in the water… According to Chris MacClugage “Bill Chapin of R&D and Lee Manvel (the hull builder) have tested the ultra and had good results for an initial test at 10 pounds of boost pressure that showed a top speed of 76mph at 8.350rpm. “But this is only a start, since the supercharged edition was showed 76mph with 10 pounds so I think turbo has great potential. Remember the ignition is stock still!” MacClugage had said. We present exclusively the R&D Ultra Turbo kit under the Features Section.

>Walt’s Motorsports closed down

This is sad news for the personal watercraft enthusiasts and all those racers that for 29 years visited Lake Havasu City. We found out just this morning (3/5/2011) that the big store of Walt’s in Havasu was going through some very serious issues due to the bad economy that has been affecting USA for years and especially at this moment (high fuel cost). Walt’s Motorsports has been supporting the pwc race community and especially foreign racers during the World Finals and every other International event for years. We had published a story on this particular pwc and motorcycle store in the past (read it on Features section) and we knew the people who worked there as well as Tony Beck who was running the business. Any kind of personal watercraft race or event will not be the same anymore in Havasu without Walt’s. We hope that we will soon see it coming back on its feet.

>Warner won Dana Point to Avalon

The 3rd Annual Dana Point to Avalon Offshore Race presented by Sea-Doo & Sea-Tow sanctioned by the APBA was a tremendous success despite one of the roughest races in the history of the Triple Crown series! Congratulations to Craig Warner #1 Corona, CA Monster Energy/Kawasaki on the overall win and 1st in Pro-Am Open with a time of 1 hour 10 minutes and 55 Seconds. 2nd Place went to past Triple Crown Offshore National Champion Mark Gerner with a time of 1 hour 15 minutes and 35 seconds. Rounding out the podium in 3rd overall and in the Pro/Am Class was Eric Hardin #5 Anaheim, CA on his Kawasaki Ultra 300X crossing the line just 10 seconds behind Gerner with a time of 1 hour 15 minutes and 45 seconds. Story weather conditions, low visibility, moderate to high swells all made for a rough race that really tested the racers and equipment from start to finish. A big THANK YOU!!! to all of the sponsors that made the event possible: Sea-Doo, Sea-Tow, Kawasaki, Dana Point Jet Ski, Dana Point Shipyard, Mike Follmer Specialties, Gemmell’s. Click on to the attachment sigh to read the results.

This particular SX-R has been prepared by Steve Webster for Two Times Pro Runabout Open IJSBA World Champion, Craig Warner. It features special Monster Energy Kawasaki graphics and a triple 1200cc engine prepared by Kommander himself.
