>Karujet 2011: Pons 1st at Heat 3

Teddy Pons (Yamaha FZR) official rider of Audemar was unstoppable on third day of Karujet ahead of local ace Centric Ramassay (Kawasaki 300X) who made the big surprise in this 14th edition of the race. According to most reports we have read on this race refuel plays key role to the overall standing and progression of its team and this is the particular field which Audemar had proved its expertise and professionalism. Third place went to Francois Medori (Kawasaki 260X) although some report talk about Pastorello climbing on third place onboard his fast 300X (he is still left far behind at the Overall Standings). If Pons plays it safe on last day he has got a very big chance of winning the Karujet Race this year. We still expect UIM to announce the official result of third day.

>Karujet 2011: Mac without luck

According to the recent information we got from R&D, Chris MacClugage had bought the new R&D watercooled Supercharger Housing for the Yamaha he planning to race at Karujet. Multi World Champion had pulled away from the pack and he was ahead with a difference of almost 1 minute however, a big misjudgement over the fuel required to go the distance proved to be a costly error, with the American stopping several miles before the finish line. He also run into some sort of trouble the second day too and most probably he had lost any hope of chasing Teddy Pons and the overall win this year at Karujet. Chris MacClugage has won back in 2004 and also had competed in 2007 at Karujet. This year he competes with Team Yamaha Marine Martini and we hope that he will be able to continue the race tha next two days.

>Karujet 2011:Dustin Farthing Wins Heat 1

Guadeloupe, 15 April - The stars and stripes fluttered over Caribbean waters as Aquabike veteran Dustin Farthing headed the overall standings in the 14th edition of the Karujet. The 32-year old American aquabiker, driving a Kawasaki jet, led the fleet home after a gruelling 138km to win heat 1 by 56 seconds, with Frenchman Teddy Pons on a Yamaha in second place. The race started at 1.50 pm from the plage of Viard at Petit Bourg in pouring rain; Chris McCluggage (USA) led from the start to open up a gap of over a minute to Farthing, and looked set to be on his way to victory. But a big misjudgement over the fuel required to go the distance proved to be a costly error, with the American stopping several miles before the finish line. Farthing was the first to pass, even without his seat, lost during the race, followed by Teddy Pons (FRA), an expert driver in the UIM Aquabike World Championship. Guadeloupe's Ramassamy Cedric arrived only 1'09 later to take an impressive third place and give the home supporters something to shout about. 2010 winner Pastorello dropped out of the race after only a few minutes because of an engine problem, all but ending any hope of competing for the overall win, with a gap of 2h 30' between him and leader, Farthing. Today April 15th at 11am second heat: 120 km of racing from Viard beach to Baie-Mahault, Bain (Vieux-Bourg) - Baie Mahault - Point Noire and back to Viard Beach. >SX-R transformed into an X-2

Japanese tuners most probably have mastered this type of transformations since we have seen in the past other similar projects. This particular SX-R was presented at J-Lines booth at the International Boat show of Tokyo. The original handlepole was replaced by a new steering system that was put on the newly designed hood. Original deck was left as it was apart from the stock rail caps that were replaced. No matter what it remains an interesting project.

>S4 with ZXi1100 engine

Teddy from Austria informed us about this interesting project recently. He has replaced the Weber motor with a triple cylinder, two-stroke Kawasaki engine and also managed to fit a single pipe that looks to be a Pro-Tec or Coffmans. He has also released a small video illustrating the engine operating plugged into water. Teddy expects to test the new craft on the water soon and then he will supply us with photos and more information in order to present it on the web site. The funny think with S4’s is as multi-champion Dustin Farthing had said a few years ago “The faster they get the worse they handle”. Though, we believe that there are exceptions to this rule.

>Rotrex SC, in favour

Since we had published some photos of Isahai’s Ultra and his Rotrex set up of his Ultra more and more e-mails came by asking questions about his set up or how to put a Rotrex SC to a Kawasaki racecraft whether it is an Ultra or a 15F. The fact is that during all those year we got minimum response on the Vortech SC’s. I do not know what is happening on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean however the fact is that only a handful of people are using successfully that Vortech SC’s. We will be glad to publish some more ideas and set ups of those Rotrex applications on the Kawasaki’s.
