>We ride R&D’s 90+mph FZR

One day after the World Finals we had the opportunity to test ride R&D’s new prototype FZR that features a carbon –new generation- Lee Manvell hull and a medium tuned Yamaha FZR Supercharged engine. Topping 90+mph was a surprised for us on a boat that runs on AvGas and low ignition timing. It is obvious that when you use Race Gas, different timing and a bit of fine tuning the whole set up will add another 5mph of top speed. Soon the whole story will be featured under the Race Tests section.

>World Finals without… world flags

This year it was the 29th anniversary of the World Finals personal watercraft races. Though, we noticed that there were no Nation Flags up on the two Grand Stands. Is this the right way that IJSBA shows its appreciation to all these riders and teams that spend a fortune to come over and race in the US? IJSBA made a great job this year at the World Finals considering that the global economic crisis does not make it easier to organise such an event. Though, the missing flags was something that a lot of people noticed, locals and foreingers.
