>Japanese Freestyle brigade

The Japanese Freestyle riders are already in Havasu, at least most of them as far as we know, in order to get familiar with the water, to get rid of the jetlag and prepare for the World Finals. Top rider Fumikasu Watanabe is also there and he plans to put a real show and fight for the World Title. Freestyle is very popular in Japan whether the riders use Ski’s or X-2’s.

>Kawasaki Ultra 2011 new compressor

According to the information that we have from a Kawasaki spokesman the new Jet Ski Ultra will be equipped with a new Supercharger, most probably different to the one (Roots type) that used until 2010 model. Back in 2006 when Kawasaki launched Ultra 250 the company presented two different Superchargers on the stand at the World Finals. The pictured one was never seen on any Ultra most probably until 2011 unit. Possibly Kawasaki had already tested other options and now is going to present the update version of the new Ultra that rumors said is going to be the most powerful production Jet Ski. The new compressor will provide substantial increase of the acceleration since top speed of the craft will be electronically controlled and hammered to 67mph, according to US Coast Guard regulations. Rumors talk about the possibility of Kawasaki using a new Roots type charger...

>Garmin successfuly tackles crime on water

Garmin is a well known company established in the GPS devices. Garmin U.K. are working with Yamaha to install their award winning marine GPS equipment onboard the WaveRunner range of Personal Water Craft (PWC). One major benefit to this exciting partnership is the support and confidence it gives Dorset police who rely on PWC to operate in one the world’s largest natural harbors; Poole. The GPSMAP? 451s was first trialled by the police on a Yamaha WaveRunner VX Deluxe model and became an instant success enabling the police to patrol, flush out and rescue in shallow or restricted waters that only a PWC can operate in. Other noted qualities includes the GPSMAP 451s backlight facility giving the rider night time direction finding, this combined with modifications made to the PWC by Yamaha, who fitted navigation lights, meant that operations that had previously been restricted to daylight hours could now be run 24hrs; increasing the safety of the harbour at night. The additional transducer fitting provides users with a measurement of depth increasing the flexibility of the craft and safe operation in shallow waters. If successful the police may extend their use of the Garmin GPSMAP 451s to other emergency services with similar needs globally. We know already that other companies have introduced GPS tracking devices that enables the own to know at any time where his pwc, motorcycle or car is. Somehow we have to protect our crafts.

Therefore, by the time that Akropolis Jet Raid will start there is no time left for his main boat to return in Europe. His race craft is being prepared by Audemar.
