>Electric carbon Samba

Lat year we had featured the revolutionary two stroke powered Samba that made it to the news. We contacted the company, Silveira Group to find more about it but at the moment (May 2009) there was no model available for test ride. We sea the company at the World Finals too but neither at that time there a unit available for testing, only for display. Now, you are looking at the first exclusive images of what we expect to become the Personal Water Craft V 3.0 – it's the brand new “Green” Samba. It has the same straight line 65 mph performance of the fastest 260 bhp sit-down PWCs, combined with handling and agility far beyond those of a stand-up PWC. The biggest benefit though, is that the Green Samba uses twin direct drive electric propulsion pods (unit pictured bottom left), so it doesn't directly deliver any hydrocarbons, CO2 or NO2 into delicate marine environments. Equally as important as the lack of noxious gases, the Green Samba is also completely silent, removing one of the greatest causes for complaint against PWCs and no doubt offering respite for those creatures with extremely delicate hearing which live on and under the water. A working prototype of the carbon fiber construction Green Samba will most probably be already on the water for testing purposes. The point is will ever see it coming in to the market and how much will it cost?

>Team Green at the World Finals

There is no doubt about the fact that Team Kawasaki Jet Ski Racing is the only Factory Team at the World Finals paddock. It is the Team that brings the Factory look close the mortal racers and public. This year Team Green will participate with an STX-R, in other words the same hull-deck configuration the Team used the last two years, i.e. a reinforced Ultra hull toped with a 15F deck. The race craft will feature a brand new Ultra engine with a Vortech Supercharger though as the managed informed us they have designed a new coupler and dampener for the driveline to able to withstand the extra power and increase reliability. We suspect that last year the engine was even more powerful that ‘08’s version that is why the engine had some reliability issues.

>Kawasaki 2011, in October

Recently we have been informed from a source at KMC that Kawasaki will release its new Jet Ski line up in early October. Rumors talk about a brand new musclecraft that will top 300hp. Though, nothing has been confirmed from the company at the moment. Kawasaki had informed us in the past that it has been working on various safety systems and it was the first manufacturer that launched the off-throttle steering system. So most probably it will surprise us with something very tricky and innovative.
