>Botti on a Honda

Recently it was confirmed through Pascal Barriac –owner of JFC Team- that Jean-Baptiste Botti will participate this year in Karujet on board a Honda pwc. Pascal is very disappointed with the main manufacturers cutting off their racing budget therefore he is trying to find others means in order to continue racing. Meantime Botti’s Honda will be partly prepared by a well known Honda-tuner so we expect to see him in action next month.

>Crazy House billet power valve cylinder

The last two years Japanese companies released the power valve billet aluminum cylinders for SX-R and Super Jet. Maekawa Engineering had initially released the power valve cylinder in 2007 and Botti used it on his aggressive true racing SX-R in 2008. On the other hand we had seen Dasa having ts own version of Power Valve big bore cylinder. Crazy House is not known in the West or in Europe and we first saw its billet cylinder SX-R head on Yukiko Kume’s SX-R. Lately the company produced the pictured billet Super Jet cylinder that is equipped with Power Valve. Big Bore cylinders are very fashionable in Japan and such a shame the well known companies in the west have not invested on that field...

>Transponders to become a reality at Mark Hahn 300

DSM Events is excited to announce the advent of a new era for the prestigious HOT PRODUCTS MARK HAHN HAVASU MEMORIAL 300 TEAM ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS on February 27, 2010. Ken Johnson, President of E-Time It and DSM Events Hot Products Mark Hahn Havasu Memorial 300 Race Director, Ross Wallach have extensively tested the transponder scoring system and feel confident in its ability to accurately score the race. Wallach said “I am happy to see we can give the racers what they have asked for at a reliable and affordable rate.” Each team will register with E-Score and rent a transponder ($30) for the race. All transponders will be placed inside the front compartment of the hull. Each team will be responsible for the safe return of the transponder (if damaged, destroyed or not returned the cost is $250. The transponder scoring system will be the primary system for the race. In the event of catastrophic failure of the system we will revert to a back-up manual system. Having done numerous off-road races Ken Johnson looks to herald a new age of scoring for PWC racing. Note: Please pre-register if you haven’t already as the addition of transponders makes it imperative we have an accurate entry list count with 2 weeks left until the event. >SE: One step beyond

Famous Japanese company Sato Engineering Speedmagic has already started working a new four-stroke project. They are trying to put a 14F engine inside the X-2 engine compartment. As President Mr Sato (pictured on the left with Minoru Kanamori stated “I want to give stimulation to Kawasaki and then I want to watch the chemical reaction”. Mr Toru Tanaka from Jetwave Japan informed us that along with Mr Sato there are many riders and Jet Ski enthusiasts that are looking forward to see a four-stroke Ski made my Kawasaki or Yamaha. As far as we know Yamaha has been testing for years now a four-stroke Ski but somehow they are skeptical about the warranty issues since a Ski bounds to get sank or get filled up with water no matter how. On the other hand Kawasaki is preparing a 4T ski, that will be eventually brought into production and it will not be “Made for Racing”... The Ski matter is very small world wide therefore both Companies are very smart though, they will be able to sell the 2T Ski’s until the end of 2010, as far as we know...

>Big bore carbs made in Japan

There big bore 52mm carbs are illustrated on a Japanese blog (TECH510) and most probably (since our Japanese are not that good) are made for the new generation big bore two stroke engine that initially are featured on Freestyle/Freeride race crafts. Though, since tuners had started already building similar engines for the GP or Pro Ski class these are the next step (though for how long...) in two-stroke tuning.
