Japanese rider Norito Nakano was spot at Body Beach trying to finalize the set up of his RXP. This year Nakano is not using a Zapata hull race craft since he had experienced lots of handling issues last year. The lower seat unit and the front hood are made by him. Soon we will reveal more of the tech spec and details of his race craft.

The particular Ultra hood is a two piece unit that has been designed by Dustin Farthing and made by 3DR. It is bolt on by quick release bolts on special crafted aluminum brackets and it is very light. This hood is available through TBM or Farthing Racing.

The picture S4 will be raced by Urbain from Belgium and it has been prepared by JSU.be. Though, it features a splendid paint job similar to the one that MacClugage had last year on his helmet. This superb design was done by Alex Paul of APDesigns.

This is the brand new cast aluminum ride plate for Ultra that Dustin Farthing is using on one of his three race crafts. Its design differs from the existing model since it does not have the side grooves as well the built in trim tab. The new ride plate was designed by Farthing father and recently it was built by TBM. The particular model is for race use only and it cannot accommodate the reverse bucket.

A week before the Pro weekend, Dustin Motzouris was shown at Crazy beach practicing along with his tuner Steve Webster of Kommander Industries. Dustin is running a new engine set up that features a DASA big bore cylinder with power valves. Motzouris is trying to finalize the handling set up basically with the ride plate. He still uses the carbon Kommander Industries (ex-JSU) ride plate but he has made new holes in order to increase hook up at the rear end and improve stability at high speeds since he is using a lighter carbon hull made by Trinity Composites.

Josh Lustic was also at Crazy Beach along with Steve Webster of Kommander Industries testing the new Matrix Freestyle craft. The new craft is very short with aggressive deck design and Lustic has added another set of bars in order to accomplish new tricks. We are looking forward to see him practicing on his new freestyle routine.

Chris MacClugage will be riding in two Classes this year at the World Finals. He will be racing in Pro Runabout Stock and Pro Runabout Open. His Yamaha FZR’s are prepared be Bill Chapin of R&D in a close cooperation with MoTec. Motec engineer Peter along with Chapin are trying to finalize the optimum set up of the ignition as well as the proper boost pressure and Air to Fuel ratio.
