>Alissia Ida got injured in Havasu

Pro rider Italian Alissia Ida was injured in Havasu on the second moto of the Pro Am Women’s Ski. She dominated in the first moto though was also involved in a crash in the second one and she broke her right leg in four places. Due to the fact that she had not mentioned her insurance policy in the application form she faced extreme difficulty prior entering the Operation room, due to the U.S. regulations. Since most of her friends flew to Italy, Chris and Rachel MacClugage pulled a few strings and on her side was ex-multi champion Tera Laho. We saw her at the hospital and we wished her once again a good and quick recovery.

>Jeremy Hoyland currently missing in Indonesia

We are very sad to report that popular race director and IJSBA official, Jeremy Hoyland, has gone missing while riding a PWC in Bali Indonesia. Jeremy was brought to Bali as the race director for the Jet Ski Sport events of the 2008 Asia Beach Games. On October 24, the tides did not match the chart that was provided to us. Therefore, racing was put off until the late afternoon so that competitors could race in the safest water conditions. The staff was given the morning and early afternoon off for personal time. Jeremy spent his time recreationally riding on a borrowed PWC and encountered mechanical problems which put him at the mercy of the currents. Helicopter search efforts began immediately upon the report of Jeremy not returning to the event site. These search efforts are still underway and we are well within the time window where persons missing from a PWC ride in this region were found safely. As of today, there are 6 helicopters, 2 navy vessels, other official boats, and numerous private persons searching for him. We ask that the public respect Jeremy’s family during this difficult time by avoiding speculation and participation in rumor spreading. There are currently numerous incorrect stories floating around in the Bali media and on the internet. These statements can hinder rescue efforts and cause unneeded extra grief for Jeremy’s family, friends, and colleagues. The IJSBA will update the PWC community with any news when we get it and verify the accuracy. We remain optimistic that the news will be good when we report it.

>FZR In-Tank Fuel Pressure Regulator Block Off Kit

R&D offers a Fuel Pressure Regulator Block off Kit which will allow the OEM stock in tank fuel pressure regulator to be removed, blocked off, and replaced with a billet part which is mandatory when installing an aftermarket externally adjustable fuel pressure regulator system. The OEM in tank fuel pressure regulator is fixed to maintain 40-43 pounds of fuel pressure at all times. For high performance applications where horsepower is boosted, it is necessary to install larger flowing fuel injectors and be able to tune the fuel pressure up or down as needed. Most factory race teams are running 65 plus pounds of fuel pressure along with higher flowing fuel injectors and externally adjustable pressure regulators. The R&D Fuel Pressure Blockoff Fitting is the answer to quickly replace and block off the port. R&D has a complete line up of fuel pumps, fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulators, fuel gauge, and fuel hose accessories all designed specifically for the Yamaha FZR. All R&D fuel injection parts and products meet Coast Guard, I.J.S.B.A., and APBA approval.
