>R&D new Monster charger wheel

R&D new Monster charger wheel This is the new R&D’s Monster Compressor Wheel kit for the new Yamaha FZR engine. It promises to deliver “horsepower you can feel” providing instant throttle response, improved mid range acceleration and increased top speed performance. The stock Yamaha Supercharger is equipped with a 5 blade design wheel. R&D had designed a 9 blade one in the past while Riva had produced a 7 blade impeller for the same Supercharger. Recently R&D produced the pictured 11 blade wheel that Bill Chapin showed us in Havasu during the first testing we carried out together for the new FZR. The new wheel will be available soon along with some other tricky parts for the new Yamaha.

>Maximum protection

Having an accident with a high speed Runabout or Ski may cause severe damage to the neck or an even worse trauma. The MX type helmet has great friction to the water surface and it may prevent even the sudden snap of the neck. A newly release protection that was initially designed for the MX riders is called Leatt Brace and it actually protects the spin section on the neck and skull support area. Norito Nakano was most probably the only rider that was using this high etch but still crucial protection during the World Finals. Since the speed of race crafts have increased at a substantial level I would strongly recommend to every single racer to use such a device.

>Jeremy Hoyland currently missing in Indonesia

We are very sad to report that popular race director and IJSBA official, Jeremy Hoyland, has gone missing while riding a PWC in Bali Indonesia. Jeremy was brought to Bali as the race director for the Jet Ski Sport events of the 2008 Asia Beach Games. On October 24, the tides did not match the chart that was provided to us. Therefore, racing was put off until the late afternoon so that competitors could race in the safest water conditions. The staff was given the morning and early afternoon off for personal time. Jeremy spent his time recreationally riding on a borrowed PWC and encountered mechanical problems which put him at the mercy of the currents. Helicopter search efforts began immediately upon the report of Jeremy not returning to the event site. These search efforts are still underway and we are well within the time window where persons missing from a PWC ride in this region were found safely. As of today, there are 6 helicopters, 2 navy vessels, other official boats, and numerous private persons searching for him. We ask that the public respect Jeremy’s family during this difficult time by avoiding speculation and participation in rumor spreading. There are currently numerous incorrect stories floating around in the Bali media and on the internet. These statements can hinder rescue efforts and cause unneeded extra grief for Jeremy’s family, friends, and colleagues. The IJSBA will update the PWC community with any news when we get it and verify the accuracy. We remain optimistic that the news will be good when we report it.
