>New rules for Pro Ski is coming up

According to the information we got from a respective source from the US, IJSBA and APBA are working out a formula for changing the rules in the Pro Ski Open in order to raise the competition and make fare the battle between the four strokes and two strokes. Possibly the displacement will reach the 900 or even the 1000cc. Additionally, the tuners will allow the use of aftermarket cylinders equipped with power valves. Therefore, two strokes will have the required power in order to reach the performance (acceleration and top speed) of the turbo-charged four strokes. R&D has already started working on the development of new products for the new Yamaha musclecraft. According to Bill Chapin the company is designing a new handling package (intake grate and sponsons) and also plans to manufacture a kit for the new engine that will increase the horsepower to an additional 40hp. Chapin had mentioned that the particular engine has the potential for a great performance.

MaccRacing is developing a new hull for the Kawasaki Ultra 250X in order to enhance the sport characteristics of the particular hull. >A visit to R&D premises

After the World Finals were over the Greek Team visited the R&D factory in LA.. The company had recently moved to new facilities to east LA and Glenn Dickinson gave us (Moraitis and Malouchos) a tour around the factory, showing us some of the manufacturing processes as well as the moulds and special tools. Additionally, we saw the CNC machine perfecting the backing plate of the Ultra aluminum sponsons. Our visit ended up at Dickinson’s office where he explained the development of some products.

>Special plate for S4 by Rius Racing

Christophe Girello chief mechanic of Rius Racing was helping out Dustin Farthing with the handling issues of his two Ski’s. One of them was equipped with an oversized two stroke engine. The pictured ride plate was the composite OEM plate of the S4 that was heavily modified by Girello with a B.Chapin pattern of holes in order to enhance rear end grip and straight line stability. Girello had also modified an aluminum ride plate for Farthings second Ski. According to Girello Rius Racing plans to produce an intake grate and a ride plate for the S4. The later one will be made off aluminum or composite.
