Young Frenchman Jean Baptiste Botti is still the rider to beat in Europe. Competing in the French National Championship in Pro Ski he has won in a class of his own from the first round, ahead of his team mate Michael Poret and last years World Champion Brice Lopez. His domination has continued to the French Endurance series where he won the first round on an Ultra 250X ahead of Cyrille Lemoine and Julien Grenet. So far he has been unbeatable in every race he has participated.

The young rider from UAE was a former rider and world champion in personal water craft racing. He competed in the Aquabike series that were organized by UIM. He works as a mechanical engineer in Dubai at the National Gas Company. When he is away from the water he fancies riding his mountain bike and enjoys going for motocross riding. Among others he has mentioned that he has a good time in Jet Ski racing but also enjoys the speed of the Class 1 powerboats.

Recently the first round of the World Championship of Class 1 had taken place in Athens, Greece. Though, the local promoters and organizers had faced many difficulties with the National Coast Guard Authorities. As a result the race course of Class 1 was altered in order to meet the safety standards of the Coast Guard. Additionally, the scheduled Personal Water Craft race was cancelled since the safety demands of the Coast Guard did not meet the requirements of the Hellenic Powerboat Association and the overall good for the spectators.

Riva Racing has manufactured a set of sponsons for the Kawasaki Ultra. These sponsons deliver a significant improvement over the stock sponsons with superior blade design and backing plate. The number one rider of JFC Team and runner up of the Pro Ski World Finals, youngster Jean Baptiste Botti was the overall winner of the GP Ski class at the first round of the European Tour. Starting off, Botti won the pole position during the chrono finals. The he continued by winning easily in a way the first two motos as well as the third one at the end of the second day. At the scoring table Botti is ahead of his former team mate Dauliach, Lopez, Poret and Rius.
