The Sea Style magazine, at the center of Marina Zeas in Pireaus, carried out the organization of the two-day event under the name “Child &Sea” successfully. Parents and children gathered in Marina Zeas on the last weekend of June in order to get familiar with the water sports. Under the supervision of their parents, the children had the opportunity to go sailing or a short trip with a powerboat and get to know the beauty of these sports. On behalf of www.jetskiworld.gr, Vasilis Moraitis attended the event in cooperation with TEOMOTO A.E. (Importers of Kawasaki personal water craft) and the Champions store (sales and service of personal water crafts). Moraitis provided valuable information and useful instructions for the safe and proper use of personal watercrafts.

>Slippery Matrix gloves

The American based company describes its Matrix glove as a combination of performance and comfort. It is constructed of materials of different thickness. The airprene panels keep the hand cool and the sticky anti-slip fingers ensure a firm grip. >Mercantile Marine’s Announcement

The minister of Mercantile Marine, Mr. K. Kefalogiannis emphasized that the YEN is primly concerned for the human life insurance in the sea and he announced a list of instructions, to inform the swimmers and drivers of powerboats in order to enhance the valuable information with the hope to minimize the accidents on the beaches. The headquarters of the Coast Guard Authorities of the YEN Department sent instructions pamphlets to every single Coast Guard Station in order to enhance the preliminary control to the powerboats and floating vessels. The instructions pamphlets also includes another set of documents were enclosed you will find valuable information about the safety of the swimmers, the fishing divers and the captains-drivers-professionals boat users. Additionally, these four documents provide particular advice according to the preliminary controls which will be carried out by the Coast Guard Authorities to the drivers-owners of the vessels as well as to the professional that rent such vessels during the summer season.

>Laho comes back

World known, Multi World Champion Tera Laho, is coming back to the racing scene, and will most probably raise the level of the already high competition, in the Pro Am Ski class. Officially she announced her come back to racing during the World Finals in Havasu, though she did not mention whether she will compete in National and Regional series or if she will just appear at the World Finals. At the moment, she has announced that she will compete on a Yamaha under the tent of Rius Racing. Nicolas Rius is trying to put some sponsors together in order to bring Laho to the last round of the European Championship, in Paris.

>The 4th round of EJSBA will be in Croatia

According to the coordinator of the European Championship of EJSBA,Yves van Heers, there will be a slight change on the calendar. Yves recently announced that “The race that we plan to do in England is cancelled, but we have found a new venue for the same date, it will be held at Crikvenica in Croatia. I have done some races in Croatia in 2005 and I tell you, it is a wonderful country, and not as far away as you imagine, Crikvenica is only 200 km from Italy. Last week, with my friend Dalibor Turkovic, I visited the city of Crikvenica and I was very surprised, we meet the Mayor of the City and he promised us all what we needed to make us happy. >European Tour: 1st Round

The European Tour of personal watercraft racing kicked off in Spain. Last year’s European champion, in Ski Ladies, the French Dujardin was unlucky since she finished 3rd behind Richardson and the British Barsby. Last year’s European champion, in GP Runabout, the Frenchman Zapata, was unbeatable in the class, and were he managed to win all, three motos aboard his new Sea Doo. The Spanish Puerta got the 2nd place on the podium in front of the French, Pons. The competition was intense in the GP Ski category were the riders kept changing places until the end of the race. Rius was the only one who used an engine under the new Modified rules, whilst the Kawasaki team suffered from mechanical failures during the chrono tests. The overall winner was the Italian Monti, in front of Rius and Dauliach (pictured).
