>UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship-Heat 2

Grand Prix of France - Ghisonaccia, Corsica, 3-5 June 2011. Sunday, 5 June, GHISONACCIA (Corsica): Francois Medori produced a champion’s drive in front of his home crowd in Ghisonaccia to take his second win of the weekend in Runabout F1 to win the French Grand Prix title. Second place in today’s heat in Ski Division F1 gave Jeremy Poret his third Grand Prix title of the year. The race win going to Porto-Vecchio’s Jean-Baptiste Botti. But the weekend belonged to local hero Francois Medori, leading another French rout in all four classes, and brilliantly holding his nerve after a titanic race-long fight with defending World Champion, Cyrille Lemoine. Medori led from the flag and was hounded for 10 of the 16 laps by his fellow-countryman. Lemoine piled on the pressure lap-after-lap, by lap ten cutting Medori’s lead to just two seconds. But Medori responded in the latter stages, moving out to a nine second lead to take the pressure off, and going on to take his third heat win and second Grand Prix title of the year. Italy’s Mattia Fracasso played a somewhat solitary cameo role behind the race leaders, finishing 13-seconds behind Lemoine, but third place put him into second in the Grand Prix standings, ahead of Lemoine. Didier Chabert just held off Lorenzo Benaglia who had scythed his way through the field from tenth to take fifth spot, with Yann Barros completing the top six. Jean-Baptiste Botti led home a trio of French riders in Ski Division F1, controlling the race from the start, with heat 1 winner Jeremy Poret passing Vincent Villat on lap seven to go second and secure the title - Botti taking the runners-up spot.

Grand Prix of France - Ghisonaccia, Corsica, 3-5 June 2011. Medori thrills home crowd with heat 1 win. Saturday, 4 June, GHISONACCIA (Corsica): Ghisonaccia’s local hero Francois Medori gave his home crowd the win they wanted to see, storming to victory in Runabout F1, on an afternoon of spectacular racing which French riders dominated, winning all the opening heats of the Grand Prix of France. The Poret brothers made it a family affair in Ski Division F1, with the World Championship leader Jeremy Poret leading home older brother Mickael, Porto-Vecchio’s Jean-Baptiste Botti preventing a Poret one-two-three, finishing ahead of the youngest brother of the Poret racing dynasty, Morgan. For the second Grand Prix weekend in a row, heat 1 of Runabout F1 turned into a nightmare for both Cyrille Lemoine and Franky Zapata; Lemoine forced to come back to shore on the opening lap with a problem - but rejoining the race to finish down in eighth place but salvaging valuable points - with Zapata breaking down and stopping on lap nine after leading from the start. >U.S.Open Watercross: Montgomery, AL-Pro Runabout Open

Trey Frame wins the US Open of Watercross Pro-Am Runabout Open Class. We got off to a very fast start on Sunday morning in Montgomery, AL for the US Open of Watercross. The temperatures were well into the 90's and the humidity was close to 100%, but every rider was focused on the second stop of the tour. In the Pro-Am Runabout Open class things got dicey in moto 3 with the Yamaha Dean's Team RIVA racing Dustin Charrier getting together with the National Guard powered number 21 of Trey Frame in the hole shot. Frame on his Blackstar powered Yamaha was able to hold his line and made a break for it, finishing on top of the box. At last year's US Open of Watercross Frame broke his leg during the Pro-Am Runabout Open, which made this year's win even sweeter - finally grabbing the US Open Champion title. Claude Clayton on board his Sea Doo shook off a poor finish in moto 1 and used consistency to post a number 2 finish. Defending national champion Erminio Iantosca ran his Judge Motorsports Kawasaki to a 3rd place finish.

>U.S. Open Watercross: Pro Runabout Open

From the opening ceremonies right into the pro classes, first up was the Pro Runabout Open. Claude Clayton from Tupelo, MS got the nod from the computer and had gate choice and he decided to take the spot closest to the tower and that worked out well for him. He pulled the holeshot and led three laps with Flyin' Brian Baldwin and Dustin Farthing in tow. By the end of the second lap "El Diablo"" had dispatched Baldwin and set his sights on Clayton. ""Tweeker"" did his best to hold off the Monster Energy Kawasaki of Farthing but eventually the Judge Motorsports tuned rig was just too much for Clayton and he slid back to 2nd position. There were a few swaps for the 4th and 5th position which turned out to be where the battle really raged. The National Guard Yamaha of Trey Frame battle for several laps with the number 81 of Eric Francis and their hard work paid dividends because both Clayton and Baldwin missed buoys and that put Frame and Francis in 2nd and 3rd respectively in the final moto 1 standings. Dustin Farthing steered clear of any mishaps and finish solidly in 1st on his Monster Energy Kawasaki."

>Balzer takes first Grand Prix win

In Ski Division F1 Jeremy Poret took full advantage of heat 1 winner Jean-Baptiste Botti’s miss-fortune, after the Frenchman was forced out of the race, stopping on lap six having opened up a ten second lead. Poret swept into the lead, 35 seconds clear of the chasing pack headed by Christopher Courtois and Mickael Poret; the duo following Poret to the chequered flag to complete the top three. A win in Runabout F1 for Francois Medori over yesterday’s heat 1 winner Mattia Fracasso gave him the Grand Prix title, with his countryman Jeremy Perez completing the podium after a second top-six finish. In Freestyle, Roberto Mariani and Sebastien Tchernia found themselves outclassed by the discipline’s two showman Valerio Calderoni and Romain Stampers, who both turned on the style with an array of tricks, Stampers turning the tables on the flamboyant Italian, taking his second win of the weekend and Grand Prix honours.
