On February 26, 2011 the 7th Annual APBA Hot Products Mark Hahn Memorial Havasu 300 Team Endurance Race took place in Lake Havasu with a great success. 48 combined stand up and runabout PWC’s entered the race making the race very competitive. I would like to personally thank Jim Russell and the entire staff at DSM Events for their unprecedented success in orchestrating this event. Without people like Jim Russell and Ross Wallach, I doubt we would enjoy such flawlessly carried out events. Shawna Thorton and her scoring team once again did a outstanding job of keeping track of all 48 boats.Eric Rudedog Graff for all his time and support I want to personally thank each and every racer that participated in this very special seventh annual event. Without each and every one of you and your teams, this event would not happen. I’m sure it was Mark who decided to shake things up this year by kicking up the 15-30mph winds on race day. He made it challenging yet exciting, the legacy of Mark Hahn will never be forgotten. Kern, Sanchez and Hagest were the winners of the Stand Up class. They managed to put a reliable package and ride consistently through out the whole race and completed 17 laps, i.e. 170miles. They were very close with Fetke-Hardenberger-Youn that finally finished second. A great achievement under those really tough water conditions. The Stand Up guys never had a chance to seat down and have a rest during the 10mile lap in comparison with the Runabout riders that they were resting for a while at the calm side of the course.

R&D Yamaha Mike Follmer Racing Team was awarded with the Best Pit Crew award at the Mark Hahn Memorial 300. There is no doubt about it that Team Follmer was well prepared and looked like a Nascar Team. Pit stop refuel was done most times in less than 30sec. meanwhile the race craft was checked through out before entering the water again. Mike Follmer is not only a true professional racer but a dedicated person to whatever he is involved to. Soon we will present his business and Team base.

Team Pastorello made sure with every time that the race craft was coming for a pit stop refuel at the same time Francis Chabauty was checking up the oil level. He also had pressurized cans with certain quantity of oil (a trick that it is used from motorcycle endurance teams) and if it was needed Francis could add oil very fast. No wonder Pastorello Team managed to win Mark Hahn 300 race. Its next appearance will be at Karu Jet.

Rius was the fastest riders in the first 5 laps of Mark Hahn 300 race laping consistently at 8 minutes and something lap by lap before his safety tow rope fell off inside the engine compartment, caught by the drive shaft and caused all sort of problems from then and onwards. Rius managed to get fixed the mess and got into the race again and proved to be fast ones more before he DNF-ed due to other mechanical problems.

Female riders Nikky Goudreau and Lark Schmitt were the only women out on the lied on Mark Hahn 300 Race. The girls were riding a Yamaha FZR of Team Follmer that was prepared by R&D. They kept a good pace from start to finish and managed to bring the FZR on 9th place which is a great achievement bearing in mind that the water was rough out there at the north part of the course.

Jean Bruno Pastorello and his team mate Pierre Carlier won the Mark Hahn 300 race on a brand new Kawasaki 300X. The French Team well known for its Off-Shore Endurance experience put a unique show on the beach with its outstanding preparation, pit refuel team and special prepared race craft. Pastorello was initially fourth after the completion of the first lap but soon after Warner and Rius experienced all sort of problems he managed to take the lead and he was the only one (and his team mate) that completed the 30 lap race. Pastorello actually gave the first win to Kawasaki and its 300X in this international race.
