Sunday, 25 September, SHANGHAI (China): The quartet of James Bushell, Kevin Reiterer, Emma-Nellie Ortendahl and Rok Florjancic each completed the win double in their respective categories to take overall victories in the UIM-ABP BUND Holding Group Aquabike Grand Prix of Shanghai. Britain’s James Bushell was simply uncatchable, outclassing and outpacing a world class field in Runabout GP1, leading from start- to-finish to take his first Grand Prix title of the year, and winning by over 30 seconds. “It looked easy but it wasn’t. I saw Yousef chasing so I had to push very hard in the early stages,” he said. “To take my first heat wins and the GP win is great. In the first two rounds I didn’t have too much luck. I broke a prop in Italy and then had more issues and fell off in Spain. But from where we were at the beginning of this weekend with all the problems with the bike it’s an amazing turn round. At one point I thought I’d be heading home. But in the end it all came together.” Bushell was never challenged and showed the field of 18 a clean pair of heels from the green flag, today’s result boosting his title chances as he moved to within six points of leader Yousef Al Abdulrazzaq.

Multi National and World Champion Chris MacClugage recently announced to Jetskiworld.gr that he will compete on a Kommander K1 in Florida this weekend and on Kommander K1R (two-stroke) in Thailand. However, he will appear in Havasu and race in Pro Stock Runabout.

Hungarian ace Gyorgy Kasza is already in Lake Havasu City, AZ. unloading his race crafts prior to perform some testing and fine tuning. Also, he is driving out of town in order to get his tricky fuel. Pre race-rapport GPs of China: The Aquabike World Championships 3rd and 4th races will be held in Shanghai and Liuzhou, China. I feel very motivated and ready for the upcoming challenges as the points race is as close as it has ever been with Nacho Armillas and Kevin Reiterer chasing closely behind me. With some last minute boat issues we had to switch to the backup boat and get it ready for shipping really quickly. I am confident that it will be up for the task and I am looking forward to putting it to the test in Shanghai. In the month I have spent at home now, I have had time to do some testing, some training and even wrap up another national Championship title. After the European Championship finals in Portugal, I spent some time with my team mechanic, Mats Örtendahl at the SAS-racing workshop in Gothenburg prepping extra engines, spare parts, tools, etc. for the upcoming GPs in China and UAE. I feel like the SAS-racing team is as prepared as we could possibly be and we will be ready for whatever comes at us.

Multi National Champion of Greece Akis Malouchos (right) had the unique opportunity to visit France and watch the final outstanding race of Cavalaire. He is pictured with Frenchman champion Alain Martin winner of the GP3 F1 Class who was the winner of Akropolis Jet Raid 2016 and recently became a father. Pastorello and Botti won the GP1 Class. Although there were rumors of Craig Warner leaving from Factory Kawasaki Jet Ski team, the American Champion recently informed Jetskiworld.gr that he will be competing with Team Kawasaki at the World Finals next month. Warner will race in Pro Runabout Open and in Pro Runabout stock. Despite the fact that he is still under negotiation with Kawasaki he revealed that next year he plans to race Runabout and Ski (with the new SX-R).
