>Phil Pope: “Now we have a race boat”

British jet ski champion Phil Pope talks all about his latest ride with Team Jet Porda Racing. Being more precise he refers to the rapid development of the Yamaha turbocharged FZR which has been prepared and tuned by Jet Porda Racing team. “For the European Championship I got the plane to Poland and met Thomas Porda at the air port. The next morning I went down to the race site where the ski was already be prepared for me by the Jet Porda Racing team. This was the first time I had seen this ski for over 7 months in fact since Thailand so I was really looking forward to getting back on it. After many months of working on the ski by the team trying to iron out all the problems we had in the past really showed that this time it was done right as the ski run perfect all weekend it was now a full package extremely fast and really good handling. NOW WE HAVE A RACE BOAT. With 7 months off this boat and still getting a 2nd overall was a massive step forward for this team now i just need some race fitness back some time on this boat and we hopefully can be the team to watch in the future. for this i want to thanks all my sponsors Jet Porda, Quakysense, RNR, Yamaha Motors, MyProtein, BNJ Parts, Rock Oil, Hydro-Turf, Ipd Graphics, and a massive thank you to Thomas Porda. The Jet Porda Yamaha Racing Team from Germany went with 2 riders to the IJSBA European championship in Nyskie Lake, Poland. The team’s race were equipped with complete new setups for the Runabout Pro Am Stock and Runabout Pro GP class. The target was to find out where the team is located in the European ranking and to fine tune the boats for the professional classes. Pro Am Stock rider Patrick Hoffmann, started on a 2015 Yamaha FZR and was able to take the title in this class, against very good racers on highly competitive Yamahas from Finland and Poland. The class was highly dominated from the 3 started Yamahas. Pro GP rider Phil Pope went with his new configured Turbo GP Yamaha in the competition to win back his trust in the boat after a long period, full with setbacks. In spectacular fights with Kasza and Akerblom he could take second place and European Vice Championship. On the podium he thanked his team for the perfect work they did. Pope: " We went to hell and back with this ski, but finally the success comes". Team boss Thomas Porda, was very happy with the success of his team and went back home with his team mechanic Pino Corso to prepare the GP boat for the upcoming weekend, where Phil Pope will compete in Doncaster at the Jetcross World Series finals. >Kawasaki Wins with R&D T1 Turbo System

They say that it was inevitable – just a matter of time. Well, Sunday was the day, and the time was 51:21 for Kawasaki Factory pilot Craig Warner to make the blast from Queen’s gate, Long Beach to Avalon and back on his R&D Turbo powered Kawasaki Ultra 310R, smashing the previous race record of 54:32 set by Billy Womack back in 2005. Craig Warner did have help via motivation from Canadian Mike Klippenstein on his equally R&D Turbo equipped Yamaha FX SVHO racecraft, as the two were engaged in an epic battle on the Pacific Ocean, only a stone’s throw from each other at the 40 mile mark, when Mike suffered an auxiliary fuel tank malfunction ending his bid for victory. This opened the door for PWCOFFSHORE.COM’s Mark Gerner, also on a R&D Turbo powered Kawasaki Ultra to secure second overall with an equally impressive time of 51.52. Congratulations Craig, Mark, and Mike on your outstanding performance. Stay tuned for the upcoming video containing all of the record-breaking action @ Watercraftrider.com Special thanks to Rick Lake and Wayne Smith for their fantastic race coverage. >Reiterer reports from Poland

Reiterer dominated last weekend’s races with a perfect weekend and a first place finish in every single Moto he entered. “I am super stoked on the victory”, says the young Austrian. Besides his dominance in Pro SKI GP, his Team pushed limits. The young Norwegian, Daniel Andersen, had his first go in the premiere class and finished a stunning second place behind Reiterer. Beatriz Curtinhal (POR) who just joined in for a few weeks to train with them, took the second place finish in the men’s division Expert Ski Limited. Jonna Borgström (SWE) was penalized in the first moto of Pro AM Ski Woman but managed to finish an overall second behind her cousin Sandra Borgström. It seems to us, that there is something these guys are doing absolutely right. The Team Manager and Coach of the young riders explains it like this: “We all have love and passion for this sport. With the right amount of dedication, drive and mindset everyone can achieve their goals. They are working really hard on these victories but they are definitely enjoying the process.” The upcoming weekend the Jetcross World Series Finals will take place in UK. The young Austrian has two days at home for some testing and preparation before he leaves to next weekend’s big event.
