Multi National champion of Greece, Akis Malouchos had the unique opportunity to test ride the brand new Kommander K1. He met Dustin and Tyron Motzouris on Monday after the World Finals on behalf of Jetskiworld.gr. Malouchos’s review on K1: “The first thing I noticed was how lightweight the whole race craft is and it actually feels when you ride it. It is very well balanced and it has rock solid stability in the straight no matter how fast you go. Dustin’s race boat ahs an aggressive set up which means you can let of the gas late to decelerate and hit back on the gas prior turning fast round the buoy. In terms of horsepower the engine feels strong and crispy through the whole range of the powerband. You have power all the way through. The hull hooks up very well and feeds the pump constantly even when you are behind another race boat. I loved it” Need to say more? Malouchos has tested many race boats in the past and he has owned many race craft including a pro mod westcoat 550 back in the early nineties.

Tyron Motzouris explains the concept of the new Kommander hull: “We wanted a all round ski with this project, something that you can freeride on Saturday and race around buoys on Sunday. We also wanted it to be affordable, so it takes all the 2008+ SuperJet parts, driveshaft, intake, pump ect. We also hate the narrow Superjet tray, so our tray is much wider, we moved the pole bracket forward and we widened the engine bay. The 2008+ Superjet already has a set back intake, which we used.”

Released officially by Yamaha for the 2016 units. The covers were specifically designed to match the shape configuration of the latest Runabout line up. Five different patterns will cover the whole WaveRunner line up except from the SuperJet. According to Yamaha Europe the new covers will available in the market after February.
