On June 19, Dale Vranckx, a Sea-Doo enthusiast broke the Guinness World Record for miles travelled in a 24-hour period, from sun-up to sun-down, on a PWC. Vranckx broke the record on a 2009 RXT iS, with 786 miles in 16 hours and 10 minutes, which eclipsed the current record of 642 miles in 24 hours set on a Sea-Doo GTI 130 in 2007 by Mike Pagliccia. Vranckx broke Pagliccias record on a 2009 RXT iS on Lake Erie in Ontario at Turkey Point. He broke the record on behalf of the charity to help fight teen suicide, YLC. YLCs underlying mission is the prevention of suicide among teens and young adults. The charity does not focus on suicide but on the root causes such as depression, low self esteem, low self image and other causative factors. YLC helps to keep teens alive.
