Guess how long it did take to the Yamaha engineers to figure out where to place the scoop in to the new FZR SVHO intake grate. Putting it next to R&Ds Aquavein Intake Grate it answers easily this question. However the OEM scoop it almost touches the ground which means that it sticks out a lot more underneath the hull and as a result it acts as a speed anchor. By fitting R&Ds Aquavein Intake Grate to the FZR SVHO hull the boat gains instantly 2.0mph. Along with R&Ds Speed Plate the craft peak up a solid 4mph gain toping 71.5-72mph top speed (the OEM boat clocks 68mph).
