Kawasaki has equipped the new Ultra 300X with a newly designed piston. The information was given to us from Kawasakis R&D department. According to Joe Heim the new piston sits down the bore a few millimetres though, it uses the same type of piston rings. Cylinder temperature is increased on the new 300X with smaller water jackets on the cylinder and by controlling oil temperature with a thermostat. Kawasaki does not want to reveal the exact number of oil temperature of the 250X, 260X and 300X but according to Heim the oil temperature on the new 300X has been increased approximately 10-15 degrees C.
