The Pro Runabout Open race was a wide open affair with the results in moto 2 turning moto 1's finishes right on their head. The only real consistency came from Brandenton, FL native Jason Russo, if you can call a 5-2-2 finish consistent. He did take the overall on his RIVA Racing Sea-Doo but there was plenty of high drama with eventual second place finisher Abdullha Alfadhel breaking down in moto 2 to post an eighth place finish to go with his two firsts on his Deans Team Yamaha. Erminio Iantosca was in the drivers seat going into moto 3 but he didn't get a great hole shot and was only able to manage a 3rd in the final race which left him on the final step of the podium. This weekend's racing definitely shook up the standings in the open class no matter the final ruling from Lake Charles, LA because James Bushell was only able to manage a fifth on the Sea-Doo RXPX he borrowed from Eric Lagopoulos, so the Hydro-Turf National Championship points race is wide open for this runabout group.

In the Freestyle competition Jason Stoyer brought up his level and stole the victory from Daniel Martin with a stellar performance that wowed the judges and crowd alike. Jeremy Parr was able to get his XScream machine repaired with a borrowed set of handle bars and got back into the fight but was only able to manage a third. However it is a long season and it is still anyone's Hydro-Turf Freestyle Championship to win.

Hydro-Turf National Watercross Tour rolled into Panama City Beach and lit up the Boardwalk Beach Resort. In the Pro Runabout Open class Abdullha Alfadhel from Kuwait rode a great holeshot to victory in MOTO 1 aboard his Dean's Team Yamaha. Aero Aswar from Indonesia showed flashes of the brilliance that won him a Kings Cup last year on his Jet Tribe powered Yamaha to take a 2nd. Australia's James Bushell had to battle back from a poor start but was able to rally to a 3rd on his optimaracing.com BRP Sea-Doo.

The Freestyle crew put on one heck of show for the crowd with Daniel Martin of leading the way scoring a 28.8. Jason Stoyer clocked in second with a 24.4 on his XScream boat and Jeremy Parr posted a 28 even for third.

Eric Francis ran away and hid from the rest of the crowd in the Pro Runabout Stock class checking early for the win. Tim Lapierre rode extremely and surprised everyone with a second followed by Troy Snyder on his Snyder Built Sea-Doo.

Eric Casey Francis the Factory Kawasaki rider had a great ride on first Moto of Pro Runabout Stock and Pro Runabout Limited at the second round of UWP National Tour as he won the first one and got a second in the other class. Kommander Industries owner Steve Webster reports from Moto 1 from Panama “Kody Copenhaver (Kommander Vector V-Drive hull) got third place, Rob Flores 2nd and Chris MacClugage won the Moto. Kody rode awesome since he was all over Flores. Water conditions were crazy rough (2-3 foot surf). David Redinger (Kommander Vector V-Drive hull) finished 5th although he had a big crash while he was in 2nd place. Rick Sherker finished in 4th.”
