The question was set however the answer is very tricky. Is a triple SX-R faster than a highly tuned four-stroke ski? The point is that twin SX-Rs won numerous titles and world championships and their performance is well known and already proven. Many tuners world wide turned to triple engine SX-Rs in order to beat the super tuned four-strokes however the result has not been a very successful one. Some other tuners still believe that a well prepared twin SX-R can easily stand next to the performance of a four-stroke ski. For instance take a look back at Jacobss SuperJet (twelve years ago), MacClugages 2006 SX-R and Jean-Baptiste Bottis 2008 SX-R. Those twin can easily out perform a three cylinder SX-R, so what is missing from the equation of the three-cylinder SX-R? An EFI system and a high tech ECU? A different pump? Or else.
