>Akropolis Jet Raid 2012: Reverse counting

Hellenic Jet Sport Boating Association and Jet Raid Greece are counting backwards the time for the start of the Akropolis Jet Raid, the Rally of Gods that will be held for second consecutive year. Officially the race poster is presented and more than 50 riders are expected to participate in this 5 days race. Congratulations to all of them that will arrive in Greece soon although the sport is facing a decline due to the global and European economic crisis. The favorites are last years winner Jean-Bruno Pastorello and Teddy Pons, however it is expected as last year that some well known Greek riders will give them a hard time. We wish all of them Good Luck.

>Farthing’s mystery hull

Last year we had exclusively revealed Farthing aftermarket hull which was used in one of Farthing racing crafts at the World Finals. Farthing may have made a new deal for his racing activities with Yamaha, however it seems as he is using the particular, modified Ultra hull with a redesigned Yamaha look alike deck. Note the peculiar rear end of this deck as well as the position of the sponsons regarding the bond flange. The new hull incorporates a low center of gravity which scopes to make this boat act like a kart. In other words the hull will have a better handling and more aggressive respond while turning. As a bonus Farthing take benefit of Yamaha’s 1800cc engine with its massive torque. Well done Dustin. Photo was taken by Ronny McHenry of Pro Rider Magazine.

>Mac Attack wins Pro Runabout Stock in Panama City

Multi National and World Champion Chris “The Mac Attack” MacClugage put it in his own words “ I raced the new 2012 RXPX SEA DOO. I didn’t holeshot the first race on the RXPX; I ended up starting up in second place off the line. Ermino was in front of me in the runabout start, I passed him about the sixth lap. The RXPX is just so way faster than I could have hoped for….second Moto and third Moto, repeat performances. I didn’t want to jump the start, so I held back slightly to see how the RXPX package would handle on the track conditions, once performing at peak I let the RXPX run away. Three different runs and each one the RXPX was a focused assault. I watched the lines on the water, hitting the buoys perfect, and still able to pull away. But I was riding conservatively, not beating the boat up…literally dancing with the RXPX at wide open throttle. I’m satisfied with the RXPX. We proved the point that we can make an SEA DOO work very well. Comparison: nobody was close, speed; handling and performance, considering a lot of the competition are seasoned and winning veterans. I can contribute a lot of this to Pete at MoTeC because he’s put time into the tune on the RXPX. Daniel my mechanic at Macc Racing and Skat Trak with the impellers, everything pulled together for the repeated wins, thank you.”

>A unique project

Try to figure out how you can make those two impellers turn at the right rpm simultaneously. Well, it can be done but you need an extra drive or gear box. This project was featured on a Kawasaki 650SX. We plan to show more on a special story which will be featured in the new Vintage Jet Ski section. Stay tuned...
