>We ride the 1st Ultra Turbo

For the past year we have seen lots of turbo set ups on Ultra’s, all of them bolt on a bench presented on Boat Shows, or other exhibitions. On the other hand we never had the opportunity to see one operating on the water. The first one we rode was completely made in Greece apart from its ignition which was supplied and programmed by the Australian Todd Boaer (of Jetworx Marine) himself. Superb week end in Porto Vecchio for the Team B7sport for the World championship UIM with Mikael Poret who become World Champion UIM Slalom. Good performance of Jeremy Poret too who takes the 3th place of the podium in Slalom and the 3th place in closed course. Final podium Slalom: 1 Mikael Poret, Jean Batiste Botti, 3 Jeremy Poret. Final podium in Closed course: 1 Steven Dauliach, 2 Franky Zapata, 3 Jeremy Poret. In ladies Class very good race for the Team B7sport again with the victory of Julie Bulteau (B7), Second place for Anya Colley(B7) and 3th place of Alicia Aida. In Runaboot class victory went to Teddy Pons, second to James Bushell and 3th to Jordi Thomas.

MacClugage’s domination of the races was evident this weekend as he lapped the field in the second moto of the Pro Stock class, and went on to enter his stock FZR in the Open Class to compete against highly modified watercraft - only to emerge the winner in that race as well. “We’ve already proven that the Yamaha FZR can completely dominate the APBA? Pro-stock class, but today we’ve taken it a step further and shown that it can also win the Open Class, even against heavily modified skis,” MacClugage said following the wins. “I already told Yamaha,” said Bill Chapin of R&D Performance Products. “The FZR is one great platform, and we’ve only just begun.”

Chief Commander Steve Webster owner of Kommander Ind. recently supported www.jetskiworld.gr by supplying the author with the following: An SX-R cylinder head with girdle set, angled reed spacers, Limited and Open exhaust flanges for Factory Pipe, pole tensioners (high and low), stickers and a small Kommander gear bag. Steve has been a good friend and tech supporter and he has been cooperating along Dustin Motzouris with Vasilis Moraitis for the past 5 years. We plan to test and evaluate each product and soon we will release a detailed report on each and everyone on the Open (and Limited) SX-R that we use for product testing and evaluation. Sunday, 7th of June was the first round of the world championship Aquabike UIM in Porto Vecchio, Corsica. The race was on 2 moto, each 15 minutes and one lap. Steven Dauliach is the great winner of this event with is 4th place in moto 1 and with the Win in moto 2. During moto one JB Botti get the holeshot in front of Jeremy Poret and Franky Zapata. Steven is 17th on the first lap because of a crash in the first corner, he came back from the back to the 4th place right in Franky Zapata’s wake for the finish lap. In moto 2 Franky Zapata get the holeshot following by JB Botti, Steven is 5th. Quickly JB Botti get the lead and Steven is second. On lap 8 Steven make a move on JB Botti and pass him, right after JB Botti is pulling out cause of the technical problems. Steven’s HSR was specially made for this event by Laurent Tourlant, Gino, Olivier Polo. Steven and his team have been working several weeks before this event to make it perfect. Romain Randazzo rider’s of Dauliach Jet Ski Racing was unlucky because a competitor crashed on him and destroyed his race boat during the Chrono session. Finally he get the 13th place for is first participation to an international event. Steven Dauliach is now leading the 2009 European Championship and the World championship.
