Kurihara, last year’s Japanese Pro Runabout champion won the class in the first round of the Japanese Jet Ski Championship. Kurihara is riding a powerful Sea Doo specially prepared by Marine Mechanic. He was racing with a broken right index finger and his race craft was finally run a supercharged while during wither his team had prepared a supercharged/turbocharged engine. Though the Japanese rules allow only the use of the OEM waterbox and the particular one could not withstand the pressure of the twin charger engine. Since reliability was in first priority Kurihara’s team selected the single charger option. Last year’s spec gave a top speed of 96mph.

Recently the organization of the Jet Raid was present in the first round of the Brazilian championship in the city of Penha. There the organisers confirmed once more time that the competition level that Brazil has as in closed courses is really high, but the question is if they will be at the level of the pilots of the Jet Raid. In the last edition Celio Vinicius in spite of being an excellent pilot experiment that when of Jet Raid it is spoken they change the parameters of how you compete. Anyway the promoters of Jet Raid believe that the “virus” of the World cup is already inside in the Brazilian teams and this country will have very strong competitive structures to be conquered. We (the organizers) know that once the competition arrives in a country like in Peru, it begins to generate an entire type different of races, where the circuit becomes secondary opening the way to the off shores. In the next notes we will go them giving the advances that leave this round. Brazil wants the Nations Cup but the pilots from the Jet Raid won´t make it easy.

The particular SE manual trim simply replaces the Yamaha OEM parts and makes life easier for the rider. In other words it uses the same steering nozzle parts though it is activated by the SE lever through one cable without having the Yamaha mechanism connected. Therefore, quick launches are made easier. A useful tool for the weekend warriors.

Eric Malone built a special EME hull for Ross (Super Heavy duty for Surf Riding and back flipping in the surf) and Steve Webster will be putting either a big bore Kawasaki engine or a Yamaha engine. Webster along with Dady started on this project but they will not be able to work on it again for a few weeks until they get through the first 4 rounds of our National (US) Tour. As soon as Webster and Dady finish the project we will post it on the Features section.

Ross's new ski is a 2009 Yamaha Superjet that was painted by John Dady at Blowsion. It will have a Steve Webster 760 freeride motor package in it. Webster and Dady are building it for a freeride competition and Ross is going in France next weekend. We will have all the details and photos once the project will be completed.

WaterTop Unlimited? and Julio Rivera made personal watercraft history at the company’s recent RIVA Racing HydroDrag Spring Nationals with Rivera achieving the first documented 100 plus mph speed run reaching a top speed of 100.5 mph. The record speed was achieved during the Hydro Unlimited Speed Alley event during this past weekend’s HydroDrag National in Fellsmere, Florida.
