>Mark Hahn 300: MacClugage report

Rachel MacClugage and Jordan McLean took the overall win in the Four-Stroke Runabout Stoke class. Rachel sent us a few words about her emotions for her win: “Yes myself and Jordan McLean from the Cayman Islands took 1st in 4stroke stock class on a Yamaha SHO built R&D (Bill). The win was confirmed on Sunday. The race was very tough, it was cold and windy it was very rough just like the World finals. Chris was doing very well in 2nd place when a scoop grate bolt came out, which left the scoop grate hanging loose, it also ripped the threads out of the scoop grate holes, so the grate could not be put back on. At least our engine was good! Huge big thank you R&D Bill Chapin, Yamaha, & Chris MacClugage (Macc Racing) for making our win possible. Chris has no deal with Factory Yamaha. Yamaha did give us Chris's ski to use in the race. A lot of riders had engine problems, Dustin Farthing broke, Craig Warner broke, Nicolas Rius did maybe 500yards then broke!”

>Mark Hahn 300: Saito report

Mr Scott Saito of Hot Products was a part of sponsor of this event. As he had recently informed us he is trying new ideas and ways of sponsoring. Hot Products USA was always involved into racing. Mr Saito mentioned “This event is become larger and popular every year; two rider/team do race 300miles for about 6hours. All class start at same time, around 10:00am and the race was completed around 4:00-5:00pm.” Additionally he said that this year the strong wind and the choppy water where that facts that made riders fatigue rise early during the race. He completed his report by saying “I saw Dustin Farthing racing on a Team TBM Ultra260. I also saw MacClugage and Rius there. I also heard that there was an entry of a team of Slovakia and France from Europe this year. This is very interesting and Hot Products considers of having greater involvement into this event as sponsor next year.”

>Mark Hahn 300: Webster report

Owner of Kommander Ind. Steve Webster participated in Mark Hahn 300 endurance race that was held in Havasu for 5th year in a row. As a professional that he is, Steve update us with an interesting report about how everything worked out in the race, “Our team was Me, Brittanie (my wife) and Sean Workman. We road in the Open Ski class. Our ski was basically stock class ski that I bought about 4 days prior and only road it one time for about 15 minutes. Even with the lack of preparation the ski ran great and we had a blast. The morning conditions where brutal with 20-25mph winds and 2 to 4ft chop on the water. Just like the conditions on Saturday at the World Finals! As the day went on the wind slowed and the conditions got better but it was still rough. Sean and I did like 22 laps and had a blast doing it. We ended up with the unofficial result of 2nd place. (I am sure we won and they are checking the scoring sheets to verify for us!). In any case this race is not about winning or loosing but paying homage to a great competitor and solider for the sport of personal watercraft. Mark was a super nice guy and had a great passion for the sport and is and will always be missed.”

>Lake Ellsinore race: Webster report

The weekend went well! Our Expert rider got 2nd place. My good friend and Web designer Sean Workman showed at the event to drop off some product for me and I convinced him to race the ski that I had build for Steven Dauliach for the Finals. It was pretty fun since he had not ridden a ski since his last race at the world finals in 2006. He hole shotted the first moto and lead most of the race until he hit a course marker and went down. He got up and ended up finishing 2nd place in the first moto. He was so tired after the first race that he had to lay in the back of the trailer for 3 ours until the second moto. The second moto he holeshotted again and lead the entire race and won the over all. We had a great time and the event went very well. Its good to see Workman coming back in action. Good job and we hope he will show up at the next race...
