>ViPec ignitions: A new era

ViPec (Versatile Intelligent Performance Engine Controls) manufactures programmable ignitions for various applications. Vipec marine ECU is available in two models (V44-V88). Both models are 100% water proof. These ECU have the cases fully filled with a special marine silicone, unlike other marine ECU that have the cases sealed. As there is no air gap inside the case, water or moisture cannot get into the case due to air pressure changes. In addition to the filled cases the components used in this ECU are very low profile. This makes the Vipec marine ECU very reliable in high vibration applications. The development of this ECU comes from many years of building and racing marine engines and experiencing the problems of other make ECU on the market. The V44 Marine is ideal for small watercraft, such as Jet Ski’s. Also this ECU is suitable for snowmobile. Mark Dobson of ViPec is currently working with Bill Chapin of R&D in order to develop a suitable ignition for the new Yamaha FZR. Mark recently informed us the following: “we will have an adapter harness that will allow you to unplug the stock ECU and plug the ViPec in. until we get the adapter finished we will only offer custom applications...like what I have been running thus far”. Mark was backing a Thai racer at the World Finals who was competing on Yamaha SHO.
