6 November 2008, BKK, Thailand – Mr. Veerasak Khowsurat, Minister of Tourism and Sports and Mr. Itthipol Khunpreum, Mayor of Pattaya City together with White Sand Beach Pattaya, the sole primary sponsor of the event gave a press conference ot open 1 of the 4 King’s Cup trophies 2008. The trophy attracted much attention from local and international media.

>A special Ski for Mac

Multi national and world champion Chris “The Mac Attack” MacClugage will compete in King’s Cup on a new Ski. Actually, he has shipped his Limited Ski over to Thailand. DASA from Japan build a powervalved engine for it and everything will be put together by Peter De Smitt from JSU.BE. According to his –MacClugage’s- plans this package should run very well. Chris will also race in Pro Runabout class, possibly on a 525hp specially build Turbo race craft.

>Botti will race in Thailand

Frenchman Jean Baptiste Botti made a point this year (as well as two years ago) at the World Finals. He might have been unlucky but that’s racing… According to his team manager Pascal Barriac he will compete in King’s Cup at the end of the month. The young gun is already in Spain where he is practicing prior flying to Thailand. Barriac is fine tuning his already powerful engine and he hopes for the best.

>Jetski Sport to Return to Asia Beach Games

The IJSBA is very pleased to announce that the Jet Ski Sport will remain as one of the disciplines of the Asia Beach Games. The Asia Beach Games, held every other year, will next be held in October 2010 at Muscat in the nation of Oman. We received comments from the Olympic Council of Asia that they were pleased with the Jet Ski Sport and that they thought the Jet Ski Sport’s growth would fit nicely with the growth of the Beach Games. The organization of the IJSBA staff were instrumental in demonstrating the potential of PWC racing. The IJSBA would like to thank the staff who made this possible: Karen Baron, Joe Baron, Melody Nolan, Jeremy Hoyland, Bob Crabtree, Martha Frazier, Peter DeSmet, Jon Currier, Julia Currier, Mike Hodges and Kristina Iantosca. We would also like to thank the members of the Indonesia Jet Sports Boating Association (IJBA): Fully Aswar, Grace Taryoto, Heru Taryoto and all of their staff. We also would like to thank Persero Lubricants for their sponsorship of this portion of the Beach Games. We wish Persero luck in their new line of lubricants launched under the name of Mestan Marine Products. The IJSBA will have more information pertaining to the 2010 Asia Beach games and the Jet Ski Sport events as soon as it becomes available.

This is a second option to the Ultra customers that requires no adjustment. The trim tab is activated by the steering nozzle and makes life easier for the weekend enthusiast. According to Tim Bushman this design offers less mess with the adjustments and in general terms it is more user friendly to the riders that look for better performance though are not involved in racing. This is the most recent paint job that Alex Paul of APDesigns USA had made for Chris MacClugage. The particular helmet is a Thor helmet and it features handmade scratch graphics in green and Monster Energy logos. The “Mac” logo in the back makes it simply unique.
