>IJSBA European Championship Announced

February 8, 2011: The IJSBA is pleased to announce that Austria and Belgium have made their announcement of their first IJSBA European Championship. More news to follow in this exciting development. Here is the announcement straight from Peter DeSmet: We are proud to announce you that we have a official IJSBA european championship. This is gonna be the best championship ever with more than 200 pilots from over 25 different countries; the championship will be held over 2 rounds and 2 different countries. The first race will be in Austria Weitenegg on 15-16-17 July 2011 the final round will be in Belgium on 12-13-14 August at Lac de Eau d'heure. Hope to see you all there. This championship will be organized by Alpen Adria Cup Federation and BJBF Belgian Jetsport Boating Federation. The Alps - Adria Cup (AAC) is a federation of several countries from the region between Alps and the Adriatic Sea. The aim is to obtain 6 - 7 members in order to make the jetski-sport more popular. The federation also provides drivers with competitions to afford the possibility to compare with other nationalities. It is quite essential also to have a Beginners class to nurture the Rookies respectively the offspring. >Follmer will be watercooled

Off-Shore Endurance Champion and Factory Yamaha FZR rider Mike Follmer will debut R&D’s watercooled Supercharger on his Yamaha FZR on Mark Hahn 300 Endurance race that will be held in Havasu on the 26th of February. Last October we had tested Follmer’s FZR (read story on Race Tests section) and we were surprised by its phenomenal performance. R&D has already informed us about the performance of the watercooled Supercharger therefore we expect to see Mike Follmer being protagonist ones again.

>Dauliach started with victories

The first day of the 2011 year was successful for Steven Dauliach. Actually, he won the first heat of the 2011 UAE championship, by winning the 2 motos of the week end, in front of Austrian Kevin Reiterer. Steven raced for Franxe within the Emirates jet ski racing Team of Omair Bin Thani, who prepared a Ski fort him. Steven, 2010 UAE champion, will do his best to win the 2011 UAE title. Next week end January 8th 2011 the second Round of the 2011 UAE championship was held in Dubaï. Once again, Steven took the holeshot of both motos. He gave some great battles with his competititors which the public found it very interesting. Finally, Steven won the 2 motos ones again which made him the winner of the week end. Steven is leading the UAE Championship after the completion of the first two Rounds. Next race is scheduled on February 12th for the 3rd. Steven Dauliach would like to thank his partners Shoei Helmets, Spy, Bin Thani Jetski Racing, XBJ Racing and Strawrubby.

>Jeff Jacobs’s 10 world titles

There is no question about the fact that Jeff “The Jammer” Jacobs was the most talented and phenomenal rider in Pro Ski class. Among his many records, National Titles and wins his outstanding record of ten (10) IJSBA World Titles in Pro Ski class is an unrepeatable record. According to the results we have seen the last 10 years it appears difficult or even out of mind of a young rider to accomplice such a record. There are many young gun out there but also some very capable veterans that still appear very strong in this class. This year our camera captured the Legend of Pro Ski Class Jeff Jacobs (right) while he was chatting with Don Baynes of Kawasaki. He was probably the only top rider of the nineties that he had refused to participate in both Pro Ski and Pro Runabout although the manufacturers were putting lots of pressure to the riders.
