>Jet Raid: Last Day

It was an incredible final day for the crew Panoussis-Amador of the F2 class since those two guys were left behind on 5th day after an incident. A big wave broke the hood and the gas cap of their Yamaha and since they had water in the fuel tank they did not manage to finish on 5th day. They managed to fix their craft and changed the ECU with an aftermarket on and moved on. Last day, they won every moto so they managed to win the F2 class and also the climbed to second Overall behind winner Pastorello. Well, done for the Greek rider Mano Panoussis and his Spanish co-rider Amador.

>Jet Raid:7th day

Organisers report: “After our last night in Ilhabela, the whole organization left to Bertioga while pilots raced an off shore to Barra do Uma. The winner was Pastorello increasing his difference with the second pilot on the general, Ente Sylvain. In Barra do Uma, an accident (one more) with an external person to the Jetraid stopped the afternoon raced and pilots just made a connection to Bertioga. The day ended grey with clouds and it was rainy, with only one day left of competition no-one has his/her position secure. Tomorrow, 160 points are in the game. As you might see, pilots are few points away from each other so this let us dream about an incredible finish. Tomorrow, two class A races will be run and pilots will look out for these points to keep going up on the tables. Tomorrow their will we be a new Jet Raid Champion.”

>Jet Raid: 6th day

The organisers report: "Yesterday we had the consumption race, were the winner was Ente Sylvain. This race just brought out one competitor, Deninho Casarini but he could raced today. The pilots arrived very closed to each other, the only ones that didn`t arrived with the biggest group were the Chilean jets. They took a little more time to arrived to Ilhabela. There the fiscals checked on every pilot that they didn`t used any gasoline of the extra 10 litres they took because if they used it they were penalised with 5 positions. The results where on the net yesterday, showing that without being the winner yesterday, Jean Bruno Pastorello is the leader of the General Classification with Ente Sylvain behind him by 95 points. Today, the seventh day we are going to have the death day. Were pilots should end exhaust because of the two races that are taking place today. They start at Ilhabela and finish in Bertioga, where the last day of race is gonna happend. More pictures are uploaded daily at the Jetraid 2009 Gallery."

>Jet Raid: 4-5 day

The organisers report: “These two days were great, as you may see, Pastorello kept winning on F1 and on F2 the most important news is that Saez-Vivanco are now first because Amador-Panoussis broke the jet yesterday. Maybe he run today. Yesterday, the pilots left the beach at 11am and they started the Off Shore a few kilometers inside the ocean. The organization moved by cars and vans to the next point, Jabaquara. When all arrived at this place were shocked. It was incredible, amazing. I don`t know with which words describe the place. It was like a Paradise. No people, the beach was of white sand, skyblue water and was on a bay. The road was a disaster so the few people that arrived, did it just by boat. The Spanish press and some fiscals started to prepare their tents because we were camping last night. This Paradise was perfect although it was full of “mosquitos” (little flying insects that bite), so everybody was scratching themselves. Besides that it was like Heaven, sun had rised, cool drinks and good food. The race was an Off Shore of 85km around the island. At 14pm, we saw the first jet arriving from the horizon, once it got near we distinguished that it was Jean Bruno Pastorello. Behind him a few metres it was Vivanco and Casarini. Then we had a gorgeous afternoon drinking and eating all together at the beach. Mosquitos are making everybody nervous. But once you entered your tent you could rested in peace. Today we have the consumption race (really hard race) with one secret point and 4 waypoints finishing in the beach of Ilhabela. We hope the best for all the pilots.”

>Jet Raid: 3rd day

Today the 2 races we had were 2 off shores of 40km one was won by Phillipe Mosselman (the first one) and the other by Jean Bruno Pastorello. We thought accident were finished but today, after the jets started racing, Mari Carmen Ortiz also suffered an accident. Her jet stopped working and the waves took her close to the rocks. Then, she called for help. She was swimming trying not to hit the rocks. So the organizers started calling everyone that could help her. Without this horrible event, the rest of this third day of race was perfect. It was the first race without any rain, was sunny, without any winds also. Greek rider Manos Panoussis won again the F2 class and he climbed to the second place of the Overall Classification.

>Jet Raid:2nd day

At 11.30am, the race of the day was started. It was a navigation of 85km taking most of the time. Good news was that Jean Bruno Pastorello was able to race without any problem. Just like yesterday, the day was not helping, it was all cloudy, strong winds but without rain. Pilots helped themselves taking thier crafts to the beach. Bertioga`s Marine helped creating an area for the pilots and their jets to be separated from the people. They close this area with tapes and cones. The first pilot that leaved the shore was the one that was last on the classification. They left the beach one by one. During the 85km, they must go through 5 natural points and the race finished at Bertioga`s beach. The race took 2 hours to be completed and there weren`t any accidents caused. The races of the afternoon were suspended by the director Bruno Casa because the climate still don`t help, too many waves (really dangerous) and too many people at the water, swimming and surfing. These people at the beach don`t understand that they must move from the area of arrival so he decided to suspend this afternoon races. The jets are being clean up and re-fill with gasoline. All results are already uploaded on www.jetraid.net
