>Jet Raid:2nd day

At 11.30am, the race of the day was started. It was a navigation of 85km taking most of the time. Good news was that Jean Bruno Pastorello was able to race without any problem. Just like yesterday, the day was not helping, it was all cloudy, strong winds but without rain. Pilots helped themselves taking thier crafts to the beach. Bertioga`s Marine helped creating an area for the pilots and their jets to be separated from the people. They close this area with tapes and cones. The first pilot that leaved the shore was the one that was last on the classification. They left the beach one by one. During the 85km, they must go through 5 natural points and the race finished at Bertioga`s beach. The race took 2 hours to be completed and there weren`t any accidents caused. The races of the afternoon were suspended by the director Bruno Casa because the climate still don`t help, too many waves (really dangerous) and too many people at the water, swimming and surfing. These people at the beach don`t understand that they must move from the area of arrival so he decided to suspend this afternoon races. The jets are being clean up and re-fill with gasoline. >Pastorello had an accident

First day, at 15.30pm, was the last race of the day. It was a Close Course race of 20min duration. Uunfortunately with just 2 minutes of race, the last champion, Jean Bruno Pastorello suffered an accident. He was assisted by the local ambulance and then they took him to the hospital. He did not suffer any damage and he did not brake any bones. He was really worried about his physical condition but thankfully he is fine. The only thing that is uncertain at the moment is whether he will enter the race again tomorrow.

>Jet Raid already started

Once all the pilots where inside the water, they stood in front of their crafts with the keys in one hand and they had to lift that hand. The flag was raised and then put down and this was the official start of the race. It was a rainy start; Pastorello put himself quickly in the first positions followed by Sylvain and Mathias Casa. The race was an Off Shore of 30 km to a waypoint and a new off shore of 30km back. For the ones that stayed here, we saw just the start but 1.30hs later we returned with the fiscals to get the final positions and to receive the winner of the second off shore. The Brazilian people were all excited and waiting too for the pilots. A new edition, the Jet Raid Brazil 09, had begun. Like it was said on the Pilots Conference, since 8.30am, pilots started to fill their jets with gasoline, they also finished with some details (for example: stickers) and started carrying their jets to the entrance of the beach.
