>Rick Roy will go Pro Freestyle in 2010

Most people believe that Rick Roy’s FS-1 and FS-2 Ski’s are absolute freestyle boats. Though, those two models were originally designed for everyday rider that wants to have fun on the waves or around a buoy course without having to spend a fortune. This year Rick Roy competed in Pro Freestyle at the World Finals in order to prove that these boats are easy to ride and still a good rider can perform in top level of freestyle competition. Today (19/9/09) Roy revealed to us that he got very excited on performing in front of a crowd and he plans to return in Pro Freestyle competition on a special, hard core Freestyle craft next year.

>The Japanese freestyle team

The Japanese Pro Freestyle team was ones again very strong (5 out of the 12 registered riders) at the IJSBA World Finals. The team consisted of the following riders: Fumikazu Watanabe, Kazuhiro Hamasaki, Akinobu Noda, Hidetoshi Fujikawa and Manabu Matsubayashi. All of them were equipped with Bun Freestyle racecrafts.

>Sam Harvey won the Pro Runabout class

Australian rider Sam Harvey has been coming to Havasu for the last three years. Though, this year his luck turned on his side and after a devastating second moto he managed to clinch his first ever IJSBA Pro world title in Pro Runabout Open. He finished second at the first mot behind Craig Warner and in front of Antony Antees. He was running second at the second moto behind Warner until the later faced some mechanical issues. He is the only rider who managed to get a four stroke world title on a Sea Doo and break the consecutive wins of Kawasaki. Congratulations to his team from Down Under.

>Reiterer: Pro Ski world champion

Reiterer and Dualiach were the protagonists of Pro Ski class this year. Dauliach shown up very strong at the first moto and he saw first the finish line. One the other hand Reiterer was thirsty for win at the second moto and gave Dauliach a very hard time. The Havasu spectators were happy with the intense riding and hard moments that both riders had during the 12 lap race. Finally, Reiterer got the win by riding in a class of his own demonstrating his high speed techniques and he got the overall world title. He was speechless when he reached the shore and among other things he mentioned that racing is his passion and his whole life. His dream since he was a kid was to become a world champion in Pro Ski racing. Well down young man.

>Lenzi got the title in Pro Freestyle

The good news this year at Pro Freestyle was that more riders attended the class and also ex-world champion Rick Roy and Alessander Lenzi made a remarkable come back. Two times world champion Fumikazu Watanabe tried to defend his world title though, his routine was simpler than Lenzi’s which was full of complicated tricks that were executed with harmony and precise control. Roy was actually having fun reminding to the spectators that he still “has it”. Alessander Lenzi got the overall world title.

>MacClugage won Pro Am Women Ski

Rachel MacClugage clinched her first ever IJSBA world title in Pro Am Women Ski Limited after a remarkable second moto. She finished 3rd in the first moto behind Anya Colley and Megumi Yamashita though he dominated the course in the second one. MacClugage won the overall title and she put herself in the list of top world class women riders.

Famous Canadian freestyle rider and multi National and World champion Rick Roy came back in to action on his own race craft Rickter. Havasu spectators welcomed him by the best means.
