>King’s Cup: Pro Ski Open Moto 1 & 2

Chris MacClugage won both motos on Saterday in a class of his own showing that two-strokes are still very good especially in rough conditions. Moto 1 seemed yo be very good for Dustin Motzoutis –last year winner of the class in King’s Cup- however he shoulder came of and lost the lead however it cam back to its place and finished second. Reiterer had to come out in lap one due to a broken pole, he picked up his back up boat to continue, which is not allowed and he faced more issues which made him to DNF. Motzouris is in top three so with two more on Sunday he still has a chance to retain his #1 from last year.

>Brock Austin in Asia

Brock Austin has had the opportunity to travel with the Jettribe travel team to Asia. Here is what he had to say about his trip: “What an amazing experience it was to travel half way across the world and race in such a completely different country than what were used too. I had such a great time racing and hanging out with the Jettribe crew, I got to know everyone really well and we all had so much fun together. I took first in both motos at the first race we went too and took what seemed like a million pictures with locals. The second race the next weekend was cold but we still had a great time and I finished out the weekend with a 3rd overall in their Jet Ski Open class.”

>Klipper is testing his new Yamaha

Canadian superstar Mike Klippenstein has already started working on his new Yamaha FX SVHO (2015) which he will be racing at the Mark Hahn 300. This boat will be equipped with the R&D Turbo kit. It is the same R&D Turbo kit as we tested it on the FZR and on Mike’s boat two months ago. However the new FX SVHO features a new NanoXcel2 hull which is 18kg lighter than last years model. Klipper loved his new Yamaha “Tested and prepping the new 2015 Yamaha / R&D Racing 1800 FX Turbo race boat for Mark Hann 300 mile race in Feb. New light weight hull is unbelievable and R&D turbo set up frignnnn rips.” Photo courtesy: Mike Klippenstein

>BJ Ang reports from Asian Beach Games in Thailand

BJ Ang from Networx Jetsports in Philippines participated at the Asian Beach Games in Thailand on a Pro Stock Yamaha FZR SVHO specifically tuned for the particular race from R&D by Bill Chapin. “You know, I am very impressed with Bill (Chapin from R&D) overall with his efforts in the ski. Mostly on his specific work on the reflash ECU where he tuned it just right to match from Havasu to Thailand weather. He told me just use it and yes he was right. The thing though was that I believe that it needed further work on the impeller pitch. The tune of the ECU was amazing as the bat was just 1.5mph slower than the last day we tested it in Havasu for avgas and Thailand weather. If given the right impeller pitch it would run the same as Havasu. As I have said, the running rpm in Havasu was 8900 something and in Phuket my running rpm was 8640. The next thing that really impressed me was the sponsons and the hook up of the ski while running behind another rider. The twin prop was really feeling better on the white wash and while on catching someone and following him. The sponsons impressed so much as I have already said. When rough water and even jumping in turns, the ski would still hook up and turn tight if you wanted too. The feel of the sponsons is unique and I love it so much. You have control over the craft all the time. Overall, I am still happy and impressed with the ski Bill Chapin made for me and the all R&D parts I used on it.”
