>No new model from Kawasaki

Kawasaki does not plan any new model this year. According to our respectfull source the Japanese manufacturer who pioneered the Jet Ski in the market will not feature a new Entry Level or four-stroke Jet Ski in its line up this year. The new line will be presented in September.

>Ti new steering system

Thrust Innovations has just released a new short very compact steering system for the stand-ups. It comes in many different anodized options and according to Brian Vergin it will match perfectly with the upcoming Ti handlepole. The later will be released soon possibly at the IJSBA World Finals. The new steering system is very smooth during operation and very precise according to Vergin.

>K4 on its way

While Kommander K1 has already had a successful season in racing on its debut at the US National Tour the Motz brothers are already preparing another hull in order to fit a Yamaha engine in it. It is a combination of a K1 bottom with a Yamaha/Hydro hood and a modified Yamaha deck. Since Yamaha two-stroke three cylinder engines are not easy to find and maintain their service Kommander might try to put the new TR-1 inside this new hull. So in this case a K4 (4 for four-stroke) is on its way.

For 2016, Yamaha is introducing an all-new marine motor to be featured in its V1 Series and VX Series WaveRunners (excluding VX Cruiser HO). The Yamaha TR-1 HO marine engine is the pinnacle of engine innovation. The TR-1 motor is 13 percent more powerful than the Yamaha MR-1 engine that it is replacing while being 40 percent smaller in size and 20 percent lighter in weight. Yamaha achieves this by eliminating a reduction gear, integrating the oil tank, and using fewer and smaller parts. The result is quicker acceleration, higher top end speeds, with better fuel economy and more fun for the rider. It is the fourth engine that Yamaha builds for Marine use after the MR-1, the 1.8 liter engine (in NA and SC editions) and the four-cylinder NA engine which was used until now in the VX series.

>Yamaha WaveRunners 2016 unveiled

Yamaha WaveRunner 2016 range has been introduced and the line up includes 17 models categorized in three classes: Performance (FZR, FZS, FX SVHO, VXR, XVS and SuperJet), Versatility (VX Cruiser, VX Deluxe, VX, V1 Sport and V1) and Luxury (FX HO, VX Cruiser HO, VX Limited, FX Cruiser SVHO, FX Cruiser SHO and FX Cruiser HO). The most interesting thing is that Yamaha launched a new engine for marine applications. The new TR-1 which is a 1049cc, three-cylinder, DOHC engine that weighs 160pounds (that means 40pounds less that its 4-cylinder predecessor) and produces 125hp. That opens a new horizon in the WaveRunner future. All models feature brand new color scheme and graphics. The SuperJet also is available with two different graphics option.
