Well actually some one has done it before, two years ago in UK and the ski has raced in Havasu twice. Last year it smoked the competition in GP Ski and if the rider had better physical condition he would have won the race. Though, this time some one –R&R Powersports made official and they have they own version of triple pipe SX-R. Lets hope that someone will race this beast at the IJSBA World Finals this year.

Lat year after the World Finals we visited Jettrim, the famous American company that is based in Havasu and its owner Gary Hart showed us the latest designs as well as some prototype mats. We had the opportunity to get a few sets of those in order to test them. Therefore, after lots of hours spent on the water riding in close course conditions or even wave jumping we found out that the new mats provide superior grip and very good feeling for those who push the limits of their craft every time they go on the water. Additionally, we where surprised of the good quality which under the often use in sea water they do not fade or lose their color and the stitches are in an immaculate condition. All Jettrim parts (mat and side rails) fit the tray very well. Under those extreme conditions the conclusion is that if you want the best grip you can find you have to rely on Jettrim products and the suggestions of Gary Hart and his crew.

Finally, the R&D Ultra ride plate is ready for sale and it is available from R&D and Hot Products USA. According to R&D’s test report the Kawasaki gets very good hook up and great stability with the new ride plate and top loader. Top speed was increased by 5.2mph only by using the R&D scoop and new ride plate. If you want more out of the 300X platform you know what you have to get.

Nedra Atwood kept us informed about the Junior Star Award program and the trophy that the kids will get in Havasu. Great design, awesome color. Donot miss the Awards this year. Those kids are the future of this sport.

What was really missing from Kawasaki’s line up the last 5 years was an affordable, with low fuel consumption Jet Ski specially designed for the rental business or the people who enter the sport. Although the Green Guys have been keeping their mouth shut for the last month we managed to find out that Team Green scopes to launch a new Entry Level Runabout for the Entry Level class. It has not been confirmed whether Kawasaki will retain its 15F hull and the 1500cc natural aspirated engine or if it plans to release an overall brand new craft.

Of the various water toys for big boys that were unveiled at Cannes Boat Show, one of the more intriguing was the EXO, from French company EXOCONCEPT. Perhaps the best way of describing it would be to say that it’s like an electric Jet Ski, but the rider lies down on top of it in a prone position, instead of sitting on it. Would you ever put yourself in to this riding position?
