>S4 with ZXi1100 engine

Teddy from Austria informed us about this interesting project recently. He has replaced the Weber motor with a triple cylinder, two-stroke Kawasaki engine and also managed to fit a single pipe that looks to be a Pro-Tec or Coffmans. He has also released a small video illustrating the engine operating plugged into water. Teddy expects to test the new craft on the water soon and then he will supply us with photos and more information in order to present it on the web site. The funny think with S4’s is as multi-champion Dustin Farthing had said a few years ago “The faster they get the worse they handle”. Though, we believe that there are exceptions to this rule.

>Rotrex SC, in favour

Since we had published some photos of Isahai’s Ultra and his Rotrex set up of his Ultra more and more e-mails came by asking questions about his set up or how to put a Rotrex SC to a Kawasaki racecraft whether it is an Ultra or a 15F. The fact is that during all those year we got minimum response on the Vortech SC’s. I do not know what is happening on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean however the fact is that only a handful of people are using successfully that Vortech SC’s. We will be glad to publish some more ideas and set ups of those Rotrex applications on the Kawasaki’s.

>PWC Sales… in slow motion

Personal watercraft sales figures do not seem to look good in Europe this year since the global and European economic crisis had affected the pwc market too. Pwc sales were not high in Greece although it sounds as one of the ideal countries in Europe to use one. Though, the strict laws of the National Coast Guard Authorities as well as the high prices made them almost affordable since 2005. Surprisingly the market went high in 2009 (460 brand new units sold) but it returned to its original annual figure a year later. We are heading in the mid of April 2011 and two of major importers are not looking confident about the way the market is heading this year. Although some customers are interested to the new 300X, Kawasaki has not stated officially yet on when the new craft will be in the showroom. Slow is gong to be the import of the VXR in to the Greek market too this year compared to what was happening in the past.

>Honda out of the pwc world

When Honda entered the personal watercraft scene in the early of the current decade everyone though that the Big H is going to be revolutionary as if the company had invented something totally new. Though, it was the only manufacturer in the pwc business which used a turbo on its four-cylinder four-stroke engine. Honda is already out of the game as it served a very short time in the recreational scene and we hardly scene its efforts in the race course.
