>Riva and TBM, joint effort

Back in 2007 when the Ultra 250X was introduced Riva Racing was advertising their scoop grate version, a product that took almost two years to see it coming available in the market. TBM had introduced its adjustable version in 2009 for 260X and most probably the two companies decided to re-launch the later (with different holes that will incorporate the larger bolts needed) in a joint effort. Riva’s fully tunable Top-Loader Intake Grate for the Ultra 300 features an adjustable foil & removable rear inlet chip. Developed through a joint effort with TBM Racing, this grate provides riders with the ability to tune for specific riding style or water conditions. The center foil has three positions or can be removed entirely. In flat water conditions it can be raised to the highest position increasing speed .5mph. Or be removed completely producing the same speed as the stock grate. The deeper center bars and removable rear inlet chip dramatically improve handling and hook up. The rear inlet chip can be removed or used with or without the center foil. What makes us wonder in the first place is why Riva Racing decided to ditch their initial scoop grate version?

>R&D watercooled SC: Sold out

The news came straight from the R&D’s factory letting us know that their newly developed product, the Watercooled Supercharger Housing for the Yamaha 1800, was solute out, at the very first production line units that arrived to the company’s premises. We tested exclusively during the Mark Hahn 300 race (read the story at race tests, Mike Follmer’s FZR) and we were impressed very much about its unique performance as well as the low operating temperature. We believe that it is a true “Value for Money” product that anyone can through on his stock Yamaha especially if you compare its price with other upgrade products. The second production run will be available from R&D in ten days time.

>SX-R transformed into an X-2

Japanese tuners most probably have mastered this type of transformations since we have seen in the past other similar projects. This particular SX-R was presented at J-Lines booth at the International Boat show of Tokyo. The original handlepole was replaced by a new steering system that was put on the newly designed hood. Original deck was left as it was apart from the stock rail caps that were replaced. No matter what it remains an interesting project.
