>Electric carbon Samba

Lat year we had featured the revolutionary two stroke powered Samba that made it to the news. We contacted the company, Silveira Group to find more about it but at the moment (May 2009) there was no model available for test ride. We sea the company at the World Finals too but neither at that time there a unit available for testing, only for display. Now, you are looking at the first exclusive images of what we expect to become the Personal Water Craft V 3.0 – it's the brand new “Green” Samba. It has the same straight line 65 mph performance of the fastest 260 bhp sit-down PWCs, combined with handling and agility far beyond those of a stand-up PWC. The biggest benefit though, is that the Green Samba uses twin direct drive electric propulsion pods (unit pictured bottom left), so it doesn't directly deliver any hydrocarbons, CO2 or NO2 into delicate marine environments. Equally as important as the lack of noxious gases, the Green Samba is also completely silent, removing one of the greatest causes for complaint against PWCs and no doubt offering respite for those creatures with extremely delicate hearing which live on and under the water. A working prototype of the carbon fiber construction Green Samba will most probably be already on the water for testing purposes. The point is will ever see it coming in to the market and how much will it cost?

>Kawasaki 2011, in October

Recently we have been informed from a source at KMC that Kawasaki will release its new Jet Ski line up in early October. Rumors talk about a brand new musclecraft that will top 300hp. Though, nothing has been confirmed from the company at the moment. Kawasaki had informed us in the past that it has been working on various safety systems and it was the first manufacturer that launched the off-throttle steering system. So most probably it will surprise us with something very tricky and innovative.

>Jettribe news Update

As the 2010 season comes to a close Jettribe has two very exciting announcements. The first announcement is that Jettribe will be hosting a fashion show at the series finale of the IJSBA National Tour. We had so much success with our fashion show out at the World Finals that we wanted to bring one out to the east coast! The second announcement is that the Jettribe team has been selected to be the official representative of the USA at the World King's Cup in Thailand this December. We are beginning our search now for racers who are interested in joining our team and representing this great country! Please check out our press releases for all the details on these events. Some of the Americans that have participated at the World King’s Cup were Chris MacClugage, Nicolas Rius and Dustin Farthing the last few years but the first two have a contract with Quakysense and the later with Jet Pilot. So that means that Jettribe is either trying to find a new American rider or the company has to make a very good sponsorship to one or all of those riders. Actually they deserve it since they had proved that they can win abroad and especially at King’s Cup.

>Ultra 300 Limited Edition?

Rumors about Kawasaki unveiling a new Ultra 300 Limited Edition are getting more serious and we believe that Team Green eventually may show this very soon although the company is generally very tight on those issues. Also, we know that Kawasaki is investing a lot on producing a high performance brand new ZX-10R so this might be another reason that will make the company to hold back its Jet Ski plans. However it will be fairly reasonable and easy for Team Green to extract 300 horsepower out of the 1500cc power plant by using forged pistons of higher compression (10,5:1) and a different map. This was basically the recipe that Kawasaki used two years ago to the Off-Shore race craft that Craig Warner and Jean Baptiste Botti used on races. It will be a fast a reliable package as Kawasaki used with great success. Kawasaki may launch it as a Race Ready Jet Ski on a Limited Edition basis. We will find out soon.

>Kawasaki SX-15R?

Based on out assumptions there is a possibility that Kawasaki may introduce this year its new stand up that people have been talking about it for the last two years. An inside of Team Green spokesman had told us that Kawasaki has already been testing a four-stroke Ski though it is not a high performance, “Made for Racing” Jet Ski but it is designed for recreational use and it is very reliable. We have not seen any pctures of it and we do not know yet whether it utilizes a 4 cylinder or a three cylinder engine. SE in Japan has shown to the pwc scene how it can be done (see the picture) on a X-2 hull so we strongly believe is already one step beyond. Hopefully it will be launched this September.
